The service was great. The food was ok. It is what you’d expect from an old school diner off the freeway. The prices were actually pretty high, for the food quality. See pictures of the menu. Do not recommend the biscuits and gravy. No flavor in the gravy. Hash browns were good. The kids’ French toast was alright, but nothing special. The pork chops were really thin and dry. I’d have still probably given four stars because the service was good and the food came out quickly (and again it’s what you should expect for a place like this) if it weren’t for the “surprise” charge at the end. I walked up to the register and there was a sign, “5% Service Charge on ALL Debit/Credit cards.” Now I understand that cards can cost retailers up to 2.5% to run and that is tough. I used to run them myself and do the accounting for them. But they also don’t “bounce” like checks and employees can’t pocket some of the proceeds. So, they are costly, but also beneficial. I’d probably have been ok with a 2% surcharge, because that’s what benefit I get back from my card, but 5%!!! That would keep me from going back there again and had I seen the sign before eating I might have continued on down the freeway. Probably not, the kids were hungry. FYI.

This is a lovely little cafe. Boy do they FEED you! We got the chicken salad and chicken fried steak. Both were huge portions and soo good. The fried squash was their veggie of the day and it was just amazing. Come hungry, you won’t be disappointed.

Kind of stuck in the middle of nowhere but they make really good breakfast. Definitely recommend, seems like they also make everything fresh and from scratch.

After a 15hr overnight drive, it was what I needed.

Please don’t skip dessert! Ordered a strawberry pie and found it to be extraordinary. It included lots of whipped cream and even a layer of, what seemed to be, cheese cake! Yum!

Nice spot just off hwy 40 with great pancakes! My husband had a western omelet and a biscuit with gravy. He enjoyed both especially the fluffy biscuit.
Simple decor with a substantial parking lot make this a great spot to try instead of fast food or a chain restaurant.
