The food came out hot, fresh, and leftovers to take home. We loved it so much that we asked the names of the cooks, Pat and Kendrick, because too often the people in the back don’t get the recognition they deserve.
Kountry Kafe is more than just good food, it is a place that makes everyone feel included.
Krazy and Nosey

The two ladies working this time were genuinely kind, welcoming, and attentive. Alaya, in particular, went out of her way to make sure I was taken care of and checked on regularly. The other staff member was also attentive and made sure everyone in the dining area felt acknowledged and welcomed.
The atmosphere felt warm, respectful, and inclusive — honestly like a totally different restaurant. It was refreshing to see such a positive change, and I truly appreciate the level of care and professionalism that was shown during this visit.
Thank you to Alaya and the staff for restoring my confidence in this establishment.
The side of grits was a little disappointing as was the service. The grits were not what I expected based on the menu. They were thin (watery) and had no flavor at all.
Unfortunately, like most food service places today, the service was really nonexistent. We were advised that we could sit anywhere by a server that was behind the counter. We chose a table beside the counter. The server was doing nothing that we could see yet it took roughly 5 uncomfortable minutes to get menus.
We placed our drink order which was promptly filled at which time we placed our food order. The food was delivered in the time that you would expect and that was the last interaction that we had with our server until the bill was brought to our table. No check-up. No “How is everything”? Nothing.
We didn’t let the lack of service interfere with us enjoying the meal it just would have been nice to see if we could have switched out the grits for something else and had a refill on our empty tea glasses.
Hopefully the folks will read this and talk with their staff about the process of being a “server” and not just acting as a food runner.
Enjoy this small business because we did and we’ll go back again.
On my first visit, my waitress seemed a bit standoffish, but I was served without incident. On my second visit, I arrived just ahead of another couple. The waitress told me I could sit anywhere, but after that, she never returned to my table. She walked past me multiple times, took dishes to the back, served other customers water, and then brought silverware, napkins, and menus to the couple who came in after me. She greeted them warmly, but never once acknowledged me again.
Unfortunately, this experience made it clear that not everyone is treated the same here. While the food may be decent, service and hospitality are just as important, and I left feeling that I was not welcome.
The food was just like my Mom and Grandmaw made, but probably better (I don’t think Mom will see this). Pancakes are griddled perfectly and barely smaller than the plate itself.
Service was attentive and friendly, but not too much. Just like you would expect in a place packed with locals.
