The BEST sushi spot in Broward. It was fresh, delicious, and like nothing I have had in a LONG time. I am so happy we came here and I don’t think we can ever stop NOW!!!!!!! Great service too, very clean and the atmosphere is magical.

Great service and good was delicious. We shared a boat for 3 and it was plenty. They decorate plates with characters which makes for a fun time. See you tomorrow!

Five stars aren’t enough for Koume!

Tucked away in Plantation, Koume is an absolute gem — and Toshi is the heart and soul of the experience. From the moment you walk in, you feel like you’ve stepped into a place that values hospitality, tradition, and exceptional quality.

Toshi’s passion, precision, and warmth shine through in every dish. His attention to detail is unmatched, and you can tell everything is prepared with intention and care. Whether it’s sushi, sashimi, or one of the rotating specials, every bite is balanced, fresh, and masterfully crafted.

What sets Koume apart isn’t just the food (which is top-tier) — it’s the experience. Toshi makes you feel like a guest in his home, not just a customer. His humility and artistry are rare to find, and it’s what keeps me coming back. He’s one of a kind and special human.

If you’re a sushi lover — or even just someone who appreciates great food and genuine service — do yourself a favor and get to Koume. It’s a place that deserves all the love and more!

Got recommended this location for their sushi. It’s amazing ! Really love the size for them, wish I got sukuna figure, not much of a fan of hello kitty friends. First time trying curry and it was great. It was packed when I got there but we still fill form with name and number which I don’t think is necessary unless it was actually packed. Great service, clean location.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years, which makes writing this especially disappointing. Loyalty clearly means nothing here.

Over the years, I’ve repeatedly witnessed Toshi, the owner, speak to customers in ways that are dismissive, rude, and at times outright offensive. It’s never been just a one-off “bad day” situation — it’s a pattern. Every visit, there seems to be a new target. I’ve seen guests belittled for asking simple questions, rushed through their orders, or made to feel unwelcome for no reason at all.

This most recent visit was the last straw. I was asked to wait outside until my party came while there was no space outside due to the restaurant next door also having a wait. Dining out is supposed to be enjoyable. No one should feel uncomfortable or singled out while trying to have a meal.

It’s unfortunate, because the food has kept me coming back for two decades. But no matter how good the sushi may be, basic respect and professionalism matter more. After 20 years, I’ve decided I’ll be spending my money somewhere that values its customers.

I truly hope the owner reflects on how his behavior impacts the community that has supported him for so long.

Best sushi in Florida, hands down! Yes, it’s way down south in Plantation, Florida. The vegetable fried rice is the most flavorful I’ve ever tasted. They also decorate each plate with fun character figurines. No, you can’t take them home, but it’s a very cool touch.

Went there for the first time on 7/11 before the Blink-182 concert. The inside is amazing with all the figurines. I was sat by the wall and it was so nice to see people write really cute things about the place and the owner. We ordered the fried baby octopus and it was the most amazing thing I tasted. The batter was just perfect. I will say it’s not bad to dip it in some eel sauce. My boyfriend and I each ordered a roll. The presentation is really awesome. I think it’s pretty amazing they put a figurine with your roll. Mine was the Koume roll with Hello Kitty. The roll itself was pretty good. It was fresh. I usually order a rainbow roll but this was better. The staff was nice and attentive even if we were the only ones in there. If I lived closer I would at this restaurant like every weekend (drove from wpb to come here).

Work at the Dental office next door and we had a large lunch group. Toshi was very patient and considerate to our adjustments. But the customer service wasn’t the only great thing. The Sushi was fresh and delicious. I also recommend the fried rice it was phenomenal!

Just had lunch at Koume Japan. Wow! How did I sleep on this place for so long? To be fair we just heard about it. Being in Sunrise, it was nice and close. Wow, this place is 5 out of 5 stars for every aspect. Toshi is the host with the most and the decor is iconic. The sushi? Don’t get me started – I’ll start to salivate. Now firmly added to my rotation. An absolute gem. “See you tomorrow.”
