Came here for dinner. Got the “OG” ramens with pork soup and gyoza. Food was great! Gyoza wrapper was thicker, fluffy and it was cooked just right. Ramen had thin noodles and great tasting toppings and broth, and good hot temperature. Welcoming staff and pleasant atmosphere. My wife likes to look for Japanese restaurants when we travel (just to put them on a list of places), and it happened to be close to where we stayed and we were so glad we came here.

We were staying in Lomita for a week and ramen is usually our go-to meal when traveling because of how light it is. We have a favourite ramen place in San Jose that has such good vegan options so much so that we even went to Japan and no ramen ever came close to their (San Jose’s) quality and taste….up until now. We went on a weekday and got the Tonyu Curry Up! (Vegan) and it was DIVINE!!!! The braised veggies were *chef’s kiss* and the broth was extremely well flavored. Vegan options everywhere else are mostly miso based or very watery but Kotsu and Chef Diego really make you feel seen and cared for by putting just as much (if not more) effort into crafting their vegan dishes. Not only was it a treat for our palettes but also our hearts cos we found an amazing friend in our host Shalini, whose family runs the place. She was so warm and fun and kind that it made us want to go back twice in a row. She even went above and beyond to help me customize the order as per my tastes. Only absolute sweethearts found here :))
Kotsu was easily one of the highlights of our trip and we cannot wait to go back and try more of their vegan options!

Simple, good food. Order at the counter and grab a seat. We found vegetarian options here so that made us very happy! One interesting ramen option was matcha flavored ramen which was innovative and excellent. We will be back!

I was looking for a different Ramen place near me and had never heard of this one. It was new and I was really excited to try it. I brought my daughter and I here on a Saturday around noon. It is located in a new strip mall. The inside is really nice and open, not crowded like at some Ramen restaurants. You place an order at a touch screen, pay. grab a number and have a seat. They had some good selection and I was happy to see they had a plain version of the OG Ramen because my daughter doesn’t like extra toppings. The food was brought to us right away and it was really delicious. The cut of pork was really thick! I may return on a weeknight, but also noted that they closed at 9pm so I am going to keep that in mind. I highly recommend it!

This place has very good ramen, when I came I tried the original tonkotsu, and for a nice winter meal it hit the spot in every category, the broth was fresh and rich, the noodles were perfectly cooked, the pork was fresh, the onions and woodear mushrooms were simply perfect! It wasn’t too expensive either, the takoyaki pair perfectly with the dish, and the service was very pleasant! I gladly and happily recommend this place to anyone looking for a good traditional bowl of ramen

First time to this place, passed by it hundreds of times. As we entered we received a nice warm welcome and a smile.

I asked what what the most popular item ordered was. He suggested the Kotsu Ramen. We ordered the Pork along with Pork Gyoza.

Our order took only a few minutes to arrive hot.

The presentation of the Katsu Bow was nicely done. The broth was eich and great tasting with the mild heat seasoning. It came with a half Century Egg which was great. The yolk was creamy and yum!. The pork is actually a nicely season THICK cut of bacon which went great with the soup

Lots of noodles and cut green onions very filling. This bowl fed both of us. One of the top Ramen Places we’ve visited.

The Gyoza was nicely steams with seasoned pork inside.

Overall, this gets our yum award!!!!!

On a added note the staff checked on us several times. He did this with everyone

Love the ramen at Kotsu. I had the chicken and my partner had the traditional pork. We loved them both. We both ordered the kick with the spice on the side and it was great to be able to control how spicy we wanted the ramen to be. The location was very clean and the staff were very friendly. I would recommend trying Kotsu ramen if you have never been and I will most definitely be back.

in love with this ramen, the vegan broth is so robust and the veggies are always fresh! although I get vegan broth I still add the pork chashu and I love how crispy it is, the flame has the perfect level of spice for me. love bringing all my friends and family here. Thanks for the excellent service and consistency ☺️

This was my first time eating here and LOVED IT!!! I got the Kotsu Curry w/Pork Chashu. The curry flavor did not over power the Katsu and had a slight mild spice to it. However, halfway thru eating it, I had a light sprinkle of sweat on my forehead . I don’t know what spice or seasoning was on the egg but maaaaaan was that tasty & flavorful. That was no regular egg and would suggest ordering extra!! The atmosphere was really nice, clean, and contemporary but with a touch of mom&pop. Service was friendly with a genuine smile.

The best vegan ramen in the area, hands down! The vegan options come loaded with goodies, and the tofu steak is the absolute BEST! The broth is wonderfully creamy and savory, and the noodles are big and chewy. The ramen bowls are big, and sure to fill up even the hungriest of folks. The vegan gyoza were great as well; so good that I forgot to take a picture! Be sure to check this place out, you don’t want to miss it!
