I’ve been going to Kotobuki for many years now, and it has become my absolute favorite Japanese restaurant in town. The people who work there are amazing–they’re kind, friendly, and always make me feel welcome. And the food…oh my goodness, the food is just unbelievable. If you want real Japanese sushi, this is the place to be. It’s a hidden gem where you can get oysters, mackerel, and red snapper straight from Japan. The blue tuna is also particularly noteworthy. And the homie atmosphere just makes the experience that much more enjoyable. I highly recommend Kotobuki to anyone who wants to experience authentic Japanese cuisine.

Really impressed with the quality of fish and service at this spot. Not a lot of dinner traffic – so I was suspicious. But the sashimi, service and sake were superlative! In short – great spot for a great Japanese meal! Will definitely be back!

I can count on one hand the sushi places that have wowed me in the Tri-State Area, this is one of them. With a cold sake selection of over 80 different bottles and some of the freshest fish I have eaten, I was amazed at the quality of the meal. The service was equally impressive; I unfortunately do not remember the gentleman’s name but we all agreed he cared deeply about his work and it showed.

Pretty good sushi for the area. The Kurosawa sake is really good, very smooth. The staff was nice. The place is really small, need to make reservations. Not much decor, only come for the food.

Love Kotobuki. The food is fresh. Great variety. Staff is excellent. And they also have a great saki list. The owner is always behind the sushi bar, which was awesome. He has a great story. It’s a family place, which you don’t find frequently anymore. The atmosphere is inviting, quiet, peaceful. It’s a hideaway in Stamford my husband and I love. Highly recommend. Call for reservations, on weekends it can get full.

Taste is terrible. Beef tataki is tasteless and doesn’t feel high quality. Seaweed salad is not delicious. Didn’t enjoy either of these dishes. Portion is very small given the price. Service is alright. There are lots of better places for Japanese food. Wouldn’t recommend…

Great sushi! Pricey, but worth it. The restaurant was full on a Friday night so there was a delay in getting the sushi but it was overall great. The waitresses were attentive but they missed orders from tables next to us (but not ours though). We also ordered udon and the broth tasted good.

Great sushi. I used to eat here a lot 8 years ago when I lived in the area. Just visited the place again… Must say that it hasn’t lost it’s touch.
