What a treat!! It’s so refreshing to see amazing Asian food in Nashville. I love the concept of Kosho with Asian small plates, handrolls, shabu shabu, and izakaya skewers. We learned that the menu changes over time, which is exciting.

We came for Valentine’s Day and sat at the counter so we got a front row seat to everything. Nick was truly the best! We got to chat with him a little and he provided exceptional customer service. Will was our server and he gave really good recommendations and made sure we had a great night.

Every single item was FIRE and sooo good!
Shabu shabu: this was impressive as you get to pick one of three broths (sukiyaki, miso, kombu ) and you can even do 50/50 of the broths. We chose sukiyaki broth which is a little sweet like teriyaki. For meats, we picked the wagyu beef, which was freshly thinly sliced when ordered. The meat literally melted in our mouth. It also came with veggies, tofu, and ramen noodles which was a great touch. Great portions for 2 people.

Unagi crispy rice: Get it!! That crispy rice was perfectly crisped and the unagi flavor was amazing.

Wagyu handroll: the Wagyu beef melted in our mouths, so good. Highly recommended.

Spicy tuna handroll: very fresh and delicious

Shrimp garlic noodles: sooo flavorful, lots of garlic flavors

For drinks, I got the lychee martini and it was the perfect level of sweetness. You really taste the lychee which I loved.

For dessert, we tried the ube banana pudding. Great ube flavors and the banana pudding was light and so good.

The price was good for the excellent quality of food you get. I can’t wait to come back and try other things!

We found Kosho on a whim and we are so glad we did. From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed. The wait staff were kind, knowledgeable and guided us through the process perfectly. We ordered Shabu and absolutely were blown away with how amazing it was. Every ingredient was fresh and delicious! The Shabu process was also a fun interactive way to have dinner. We finished the meal with the most amazing banana pudding I’ve ever had. Every bite of food was spectacular. This is a MUST try in Nashville !

Food was good, but the service was terrible. Our server was very forgetful, and he was a bit rude near the end of our visit since we had to ask to get the spicy tuna don removed from the check because I could hardly eat it and had to send it back. It was way too spicy.

For the food, the salmon crudo and seared hamachi are good options, but the waygu short rib was chewy. The pork bao are decent, nothing too special.

I was surprised since this place is rated so highly, and I don’t plan on coming back.

We loved this place. The seared hamachi and salmon crudo starters were the highlight. Garlic noodles with shrimp, mushrooms and shabu I would get again. Would skip the yakitori chicken and try lamb next time. Short rib shabu was shareable considering all the other hot items we ordered.

Service was attentive and friendly at the kitchen bar. Quality of the meats as expected. I’ve been to their San Diego locations and the quality here was just as good.

They have QR codes for partial parking validation in the lot next door and across the street. $10 to park for 2 hours want terrible. Metropolis owned lot and they are criminals so be careful. If there is street parking on the adjacent street grab that.

Flew in from Texas and I had the pleasure of dining in their downstairs area—comfortable, beautiful, and cozy. I believe I was serviced by Cole and Victoria (I apologize if the names are incorrect) and they were a delight and so happy to help. The cucumber sunomono was fresh and had a slight spice to it. The Chashu Pork Bao Buns were soft and tender and the yuzu slaw was probably the best part! And for dessert, my favorite was the Ube Banana Pudding — I can’t even describe how happy that made me. I do slightly wish there was a bit more nilla wafer in it but that’s not a big deal to me at all.
For drinks, I had the #16 and #12. While they were both delicious, #12 is especially unique for the sweet drink lovers; the kiwi foam is an absolute standout. Overall, would come here again if I visit nashville in the future!

My husband and I are on our Anniversary trip for the weekend. We drive from out of state, first time in Nashville. Today was our last day and wanted something close to the Air BNB we were staying at. Literally last minute found Kosho, and the experience was 10/10. Both Wills were working tonight and Nick(from New Hampshire) ended up being our server. He was AMAZING! He walked us through the whole process since we had 0 idea of what to do. He was completely down to earth and made the experience amazing!

4.2/5! The service was really good. Our server was fun and gave us plenty of recommendations. Really nice space with a Yoshimoto Nara picture on the wall, loved that touch.
I got the #9 drink to start and then the sake juice box which was adorable. The star of the night probably was the salmon crudo, so delicious and fresh! We got the wagyu short rib for hotpot and the portion of the meat was perfect along with the served sides. (Also our server gave us what l believe was a chili oil sauce and it elevated and complimented the meat a lot.) My only critic is that I wish that the hot pot being only at the bar was a little bit more advertised. Initially I didn’t realize that you only get hotpot if you pick to sit at the Shabu counter when I made the reservation. Thankfully I decided to look at the menu at that’s when I actually realized so maybe a rookie mistake but that could’ve been frustrating if I hadn’t went back to look at the menu. So just something to keep in mind! I will be back to try more. 🙂

We were In town for the weekend, saw good reviews and wanted to be in this area; very glad we did. While easily the best food I’ve had in TN, the ambiance and service are what we left remembering. The head chef, and owner, spoke with us for 10m putting up with our BS, discussing the menu, his background, and the love for his staff. Our group of six was left full, and completely moved by the staff. If you’re reading this, just go and have the best meal you’ve had.

Kosho is hands down one of the best restaurants in Nashville- the service and the food are unbeatable. They do a great job of keeping their menu fresh and up to date while maintaining classics (the shrimp noodles). Their cocktail list rotates with delightful options as well. The decor is thoughtfully curated and cozy as well. 5 stars!

This was my first time having shabu shabu and I’m so grateful I got to experience it here. The service is above and beyond and the music was on point. I will definitely go back!
