the sesame chicken was amazing. the fried rice was very plain, not good at all.
the soup that came with it was a little too much going on inside there. the service was absolutely incredible. not bad.

We enjoy the hibachi chicken but PLEASE, not so much strips of cabbage. It is overloaded! Please put in more chicken & way less cabbage. There were barely any zuchini also.
In addition, when we ordered takeout last night (3/24) white rice was put in when we had asked for fried rice.
We think with some tweaking & sprucing up the restaurant a lot, it has potential since we enjoy the food especially the eggrolls & hibachi chicken. We hope these reviews get read & taken into consideration. Please, not so much cabbage! It ruins it!

For background my boss placed an order for our group. I told her I wanted lo mein and we got “chow mein” instead. Except there wasn’t any noodles in it so we thought the restaurant got that wrong as well.

The man who answered the phone was very rude when I tried to explain the situation. He said their “chicken chow mein” doesn’t come with the fried noodle, just chicken with cabbage and celery with “white sauce”…What the hell kind restaurant serves chow mein without fried noodle? And then he had the audacity to call the noodles a “garnish”???? It’s what the dish is! Chow mein LITERALLY means fried noodle! It’s like putting penne alla vodka on the menu and serving it without penne saying it’s “just a garnish.” I also overheard him yelling angrily in the background while passing off the phone. Incredibly unprofessional.

Anyway thank you to the nice lady who helped clear the mixup. Turns out my boss did accidentally say chow mein and we apologized (though we weren’t expecting the chicken chow mein without the chow mein). She offered to make a new order but I declined because that interaction with that guy left such a sour taste in my mouth (which is more flavor than what this food had) that I didn’t think it was worth the effort.

Fwiw, I did try it. It was bland as all hell. The “white sauce” tasted like it was made with saltwater with cornstarch slurry to thicken it up. It might as well have been made with the tears of my ancestors. The fried rice was just…sad. My coworkers also found the food to be dry and flavorless. One of them has even gotten diarrhea from eating here so if anything, I can at least warn people from getting food poisoning from this bastardized “Chinese” “food”.

It was a special day for my son and he loved it. We had a little of everything and he truly ❤️ ‘ed it! From the Wonton Eggdrop soup to the Stir Fried dishes, everything cooked to perfection…and our main menu at the register…very patient to go over every one of his 20 questions in detail – it was bliss!

This place went wrong in few ways. Worst first, vomited 2 hours after eating the dumplings. Had ordered chicken dumpling and was given beef dumpling. For a place that claims to be kosher it failed in more ways than one. Food poisoning, beef vs. chicken, which could be a big religious issue for some cultures and a blemish on a place that claims to be kosher. It’s been a disappointment in so many ways. This was our first and last visit there. No thank you

Food is good, service is good but there’s not enough seating and they do not take reservations so if you travel from a distance and the tables are taken you have to go out somewhere to kill time because there’s no room to wait inside. It’s a nice little restaurant but because of the seating issue I don’t go there unless I’m in the neighborhood anyway because it’s too far to take a chance on not getting seated.

Tokyo Hibachi in Springfield, NJ, is a really cool place. It’s got a mix of old Japanese style and modern vibes, making it a great spot for any kind of dinner.

What’s really great about Tokyo Hibachi is how they stick to kosher food but still make it taste super delicious and authentic, just like traditional Japanese meals. Everything they serve is made with top-notch ingredients, and you can tell they put a lot of effort into making their food both look and taste amazing.

The people working at Tokyo Hibachi are super nice and really good at their jobs. They make sure everyone is happy and gets what they need, especially when it comes to special food requirements.

Tokyo Hibachi isn’t just a regular restaurant; it’s a place where they really care about keeping kosher while serving fantastic Japanese food. It’s a must-visit spot in Springfield, whether you live there or are just passing through.
