Checked out a new restaurant that is working out of Korean Dad on Fridays and Saturdays 11a-7p. Shamee of Maine is Mediterranean and Levantine cuisine. I enjoy supporting small and local businesses and was very excited to check them out within the first week of them opening. It’s a warm and cozy environment in the restaurant. Very friendly service. I ordered the chicken shwarma sandwich, kofta sandwich, and falafel sandwich. My favorite was the chicken shwarma wrap. I am very excited to have a more diverse selection of cultural foods that are hard to find in the bangor area. I look forward to going back and trying more delicious items on their menu. If you haven’t checked them out they are on facebook as well as Korean Dad shares posts as well of all the different restaurants running out of Korean Dad on different days of the week.

Really good restaurant set up. There’s Korean Dad operating certain days of the week with great food. They also have certain days with other cuisines which involve a few pop-up shops rotating certain days of the week. There’s been an amazing pizza place. Recently there was a Mediterranean place as well. Service can depend on the pop-up shop as they’re all small business owners without much staff, but the food is always worth it. Strongly recommend trying this out. It’s a staple for any local in Bangor. There’s something beautiful about supporting small businesses over large chains. The food at Korean Dad is really good, I wish the menu was bigger. the name is very cute as well.

New restaurant genre and name (from what I can surmise).
My fiancée and I were driving through, expecting to eat a Korean dish (at “Korean Dad”), but is now called “Shamee in Maine”, Mediterranean cuisine.
What a delightful surprise. This place is quaint, fast service and prices right. The food was delicious! The spices and herbs from the Mediterranean region, the aroma and taste please the senses. We will definitely go back there and try another dish.

Best Korean food I have ever had outside of Korea! This is the real deal made with fresh ingredients and not “watered down” like others in larger cities south of Bangor. Being someone who has been abroad to many countries, I am always excited to see new international food options around Bangor. This is the only place I will regularly come back to. Just a few minutes from Bangor, no longer need to fly 14.5 hours to Seoul for amazing Korean food. Owners and their daughter are amazing people who changed my life and and known for 15 years
UPDATE 8/12/21
I have had several of the rotating menu offerings over the last few weeks and everything has been amazing! Food is always served hot, fresh and full of flavor

Sweet potato noodle dish was SO delicious – great textures and flavors. Beef bulgogi – YUM. Really loved the perfectly cooked veggies in each. And the dumplings were so crisp and flavorful! 10 out of 10 would recommend.
