Galbi and Dumplings bento box was fantastic. Super tender, everything perfectly cooked. It has been years since I ate here and I will return as soon as possible. Great service, traditional food, love it. Reasonable prices, and cheaper than a flight to Seoul!

⭐️ 1 Star — If I Could Give Zero, I Would!!!

My husband and I just had one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment we sat down, the server/owner rushed us like we were an inconvenience. We barely had five minutes to even look at the menu before being pressured to order. The whole atmosphere was stressful and uncomfortable.

And the food? Absolutely disappointing. Everything tasted like it had been pre-made, frozen, and reheated. The portions were tiny—my husband would’ve needed three entrées just to feel like he had a normal meal. And all the other reviews stating that there are no other side dishes available or extra rice are correct. For the prices they charge, it’s honestly laughable.

But the real breaking point was the owner’s behavior at the end. When my husband, who happens to be Asian, paid the bill, the owner actually walked over to our table, pointed at the tip line, and lectured him about “tipping 20% or above in America.” Excuse me? I have never in my life been confronted about not tipping a specific percentage—especially not in such a rude, condescending way. Tips are earned, not demanded. And they are not required by law. They are simply out of generosity.

The insinuation that my husband didn’t know “American etiquette” was offensive, discriminatory, and completely out of line. And the fact that this owner/server had the audacity to lecture my husband—who is a true American—on ‘American culture,’ when he himself can’t even speak proper English, is absolutely outrageous.”

We will gladly NEVER be back. Save your money, your time, and your sanity. Literally anywhere else—yes, even McDonald’s—would be a better experience and a better place to spend your money than this greedy, disrespectful establishment.

This is absolutely the most authentic Korean food in the boulder area. Every single dish here is so mouth watering good, and there is something for everyone. The server is a extremely nice man (dont believe the 1 star reviews) and always recognizes us when we come in! I can not recommend the veggie mandoo dumplings enough. They are my favorite dumplings of all time! You can’t go wrong with anything there though.

The food is really good. More than that the decorations are astonishing. I got the box which with variety of meat and other things. The meat was so delicious. The prices were very reasonable and they should definitely be a place to try when you visit Boulder. They have a variety of different Korean and Japanese drinks to try on. You will not regret going to this place.

I don’t ever leave reviews, but the service here was so shockingly rude today that I really need them to know that this isn’t how you run a restaurant. We weren’t informed when we were seated that the restaurant would be closing in about a half hour. Their hours are not posted on the door; we checked after being rudely shooed out by the owner.

He dropped the check while my elderly mother was still eating; fine and good. Some places are fast paced. Then he came by and tapped on the check in a very passive-aggressive manner. Then he began obviously bustling around and signaling “get out” vibes before telling us, while my mom was still chewing “we close at two!”

They didn’t let us know how little time we had to eat when we were seated, OR when we ordered. They didn’t give a ten minute warning. They didn’t even offer a BOX for the remaining bites on my mom’s plate. There were so many ways they could have flagged that they understood the inconvenience and tried to make us feel accomodated. I have never felt less welcome in a restaurant.

The food was also thoroughly mediocre. I SO want there to be a decent Korean restaurant in Boulder, but I will never go back.

LOL… really should’ve read the reviews before coming in.
What all the other 1 stars state are true.
The owner really forces his own political beliefs down your throat, and he repeats it endlessly.

The food was also a joke. Look at the portions.. all of them barely cover the bottom of each dishes, and my mom really lost appetite because she could tell the ingredients were not fresh at all and they felt like they were made from leftovers.

The owner kept speaking his beliefs even when we were eating, that only after we spoke up that we’d like to eat, he left.

He brought the bill while we were eating as well.. like he was ready to have us out.

From the moment we entered his restaurant to the moment we left, it had been less than 30 minutes. Everything was rushed and so were our minds because we were so so uncomfortable.

We were the only people at the restaurant, and the whole experience was the most uncomfortable out of all I’ve experienced.
Stay away.

I recently had lunch here with a friend who comes to this restaurant often. I do not believe the owner is racist at all. I am Asian, my friend is Caucasian. It was my first time here and it was a great experience! The sweet owner did not ask me to type this review, did not pay me nor did he bribe me to. To the reviewers, who think this way, you are most likely a troll, a hater, a discriminator who wants to shut down this elderly man’s business. This place is managed by one person who is the owner and he does everything from taking orders, cooking the food, bussing tables, etc. Check the hours before you go, he closes for an hour sometime during the day. Then opens the restaurant back up again. The decorations are so adorable! Many of the items looks like little trinkets he has collected from maybe traveling? The place feels homey and the food is so delicious and comforting! The ingredients are fresh! Sometimes, you can’t order something on the menu, but that is ok. Please order something else and move on instead of whining about it. I ordered the spicy tofu soup and the galbi short ribs. My order came with rice and three side dishes. The portions are small, but not baby small like the previous reviewer had over exaggerated. Don’t expect coming here being served American portions. I am not too sure why this restaurant has negative reviews, if you are a brat, do not have any patience and understanding do not eat here! This place is truly a gem!

Update: I’ve been here more than a handful of times since my first review. The customer service and food has always been consistent.

Galbi (short rib) is out of this world!!! Jap-Chae (noodle stir fried with beef) is also incredible! So authentic!

We are from Houston, Texas, and there were hundreds of Korean restaurants and a Korean town there. We loved Korean food and have tried many restaurants for many decades. Korea House’s Galbi and Jap Chae are awesome! Our girl is at CU Boulder and we are looking forward to coming to Korea House every time we visit her. This will also be one of her favorite restaurants!!!!

You know the first time we tried this place my daughter was visiting from Las Vegas so I was too distracted to take any pictures but I’ve been really wanting to come back because it was so good that first time! Both visits I had combination bento box which is really an amazing meal at a reasonable price. I ate my items one at a time because they were each so delicious and I saved the ribs for last with good reason- hands down the best galbi short ribs I’ve had, ANY WHERE! I’m not kidding they are so tender they melt in your mouth and packed full of flavor! The dumplings were crispy on the outside and not chewy but tender inside. The bulgogi was tender and flavorful, not grisly like can be common in the places that serve AYCE. The chicken even made me smile. Red and purple kimchi have been floating in my memories waiting for my return. And the server is such a pleasant man- he remembered us from our last visit when we asked him to record a video birthday greeting for my step mom who couldn’t eat with us that day. It’s been 3 months since our last visit because we have been busy and it really is about a 25 minute drive for us but I promise it won’t take so long for our next visit. Thank you so much!
