Corner Dumpling House has a new owner and a fresh new vibe — and it’s absolutely worth checking out! The dumplings here are made fresh right in front of you, so you can actually watch the whole process from start to finish. It’s a fun experience and shows how much care they put into every bite.
The flavors are spot on — juicy, flavorful, and perfectly wrapped. Their soup dumplings are especially delicious, and the menu has a great variety of handmade dim sum and small bites.
If you love authentic dumplings, this place is a gem. You’ll love the food, the freshness, and the experience. Highly recommend giving it a try!
I like the high food quality of their ingredients. I just wish there was more banchan variety. The atmosphere is beautiful until you go to the bathrooms, they need to be updated and it’s very dusty in the dining area against the walls and tall ceilings.
I enjoy coming here and exploring the rest of the menu. They have had issues with slow service in the past so I didn’t visit as often, but it seems like they have a brand new wait staff and they are doing a good job. I will be returning here regularly.
Visited on a muggy, gloomy Thursday lunch-hour. Staff was superfriendly. Jess took my order(s) and was very knowledgeable of menu as well as soju/wine pairings. Very attentive throughout my entire visit.
I sat at the bar area, which was attended by a sushi chef. Didn’t order any cocktails, but their shelves are stocked with Ketel One, Absolutely, Jameson, Fireball, Bombay, Beefeater, Jack, Crien Royak, and Meyers’ spirits. Drinks menu features sake and soju. I ordered a merlot (because when you’re in a Korean restaurant, order a French wine ) which paired well with the deep umami flavors of my meal.
I ordered unagi and tomami sashimi, which was reasonably priced for the exquisite quality. Eel was seared and fullsome under the sweet soy glaze and tomago was delicate and fluffy. Lunch entree was served in a stone bowl that kept it hot throughout meal and added a dynamic aspect to the experience in that the rice became caramelized in sauce near the bottom. I asked for gochujiang to increase the heat level (because if you ain’t sneezing, it ain’t seasoned).
Excellent traditional flavors and wonderful staff. Location is quaint and cozy. Perfect for an impromptu date with staff knowledgeable on selections for diners both new and experienced in Korean cuisine.
1. Yook gae jang (extra spicy) was very good. However the price was a little bit high at $16. Knock off a few bucks and this is an anytime winner. 5 stars on this one based on tasty factor.
2. Assorted pieces of nigiri – the pricing menu has the “full” price struck our and everything is half off. Most of the pieces were around $1.60. However, you only get one piece per order. The fish was okay, but didn’t scream fresh. Seems like the discounted price is a fair assessment of the quality/quantity you get. 2.5 stars on this one.
3. Banchan (little side dishes). The kimchee was very good, but the rest of the dishes were meh. They also have a disappointingly little amount of each, and there was no service to ask if I wanted more throughout my meal, even though I was completely done half way through. 2 stars.
4. Purple mixed rice. Always a good thing. A bit overcooked so a tad on the mushy side. 3.5 stars.
Considering I came here specifically because I wanted yook gae jang, I will give this a 4 star overall. Most of the other patrons seemed to order the sushi rolls and not the nigiri like I did. That might be a good idea.
