Kolapasi Indian Restaurant In Brisbane, Brisbane, Australia …
Reviews
Kolapasi is not your typical Indian restaurant, and that’s exactly why it’s so good. Do yourself a favour and let the staff take the lead. The staff offered a sample plate and we were taken on a tour of flavours we never would have ordered ourselves. Every single one was a standout.
The curries are deeply fragrant, rich with flavour, and beautifully balanced. The “dry” curries in particular are exceptional. No heavy sauces hiding behind spice, just pure, bold flavour doing all the work.
Do yourself a favour and come here to explore flavour beyond a Butter Chicken (which they also have..)
The food is proper South Indian / Chettinad style bold flavours, good spice, and everything tastes freshly cooked. The Chicken Chukka, goat curry, butter chicken, biryani and seafood were all excellent. Nothing felt heavy or bland, and every dish had its own flavour instead of tasting the same.
Portions are generous and it’s great value, especially if you’re sharing with friends or family. We’ve done both dine-in and takeaway, and the quality has been consistent every time.
The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, and the staff are friendly and genuine. It’s a nice place to sit, eat well, and actually enjoy your meal without feeling rushed.
Would definitely go back one of the better Indian meals I’ve had in Brisbane.
An Absolutely Outstanding Experience at Kolapasi!
Kolapasi truly deserves every one of these five stars! From the moment I walked in, the service was warm, attentive, and professional—easily some of the best hospitality I’ve experienced. The team went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect.
Now the food… WOW!
The biryani was on another level—fragrant, flavour-packed, perfectly cooked rice, and every bite felt like pure comfort and luxury. Hands down the best biryani in town.
And the butter chicken? Smooth, rich, creamy, and bursting with flavour. It strikes the perfect balance—indulgent but not overwhelming. Easily the best butter chicken I’ve ever had.
A special shout-out to Vaibhav for his amazing service. He was very friendly, helpful, and made sure we had everything we needed. His customer service truly made our experience even better.
Poor hygiene, poor quality & quantity and such high prices for what? Meals served from paper plates and wooden spoons.
Found two different hairs in two different dishes- eyelash in the butter chicken and head hair in the biryani. For $80 I spent the first half of my meal thinking “not bad for microwaved food” and the other half hoping that any stringy texture wasn’t another hair.
Do better kolapsi restaurant and maintain a good hygiene.
Also tried the paneer tikka samosa, which was such a nice surprise. Super crispy on the outside with a really tasty paneer filling inside. Something different and definitely worth trying.
Finished it off with a mango shake that was thick, fresh, and not overly sweet — exactly how it should be.
Overall, great food and really good vibes. If you’re craving proper Indian food in Brisbane, Kolapasi is 100% worth checking out. Will definitely be going back!
