Beautiful restaurant that has a solid 5 star look. The service was extremely professional and on point. The manager even came by to make sure everything was to our liking. He also told us, the history of the restaurant/ hotel and also of the town. For us that was very interesting. The menu has alot of good options depending on your price point. The steaks that they featured looks very tasty, but it will cost you a hefty price. My family (4) ordered the signature cheeseburger (2), another ordered their stuffed shrimp scampi and finally the salmon. The burgers was cooked to our liking (med) and was very good. You have a choice of fries and sweet potato fries. The stuffed shrimp scampi was ok, but I would’ve liked a more garlic flavor. The sauce was just a little bland but the stuffed shrimp was wonderful. The salmon was also ok, but it was small and the risotto had more flavor. I think with a little bit of different seasonings or side pairings. It would make the food a solid 5 star. Would I come again to eat, certainly with no hesitation.

We enjoyed our meal. The food was very well prepared and well seasoned, and the staff were all very helpful and friendly.
The cuts of meat are all high quality too, which is always nice to see. We definitely plan on coming back!

I was very disappointed with my dining experience. Unfortunately, the food quality was consistently poor. The mozzarella sticks had to be remade twice, and each time they arrived extremely dry and brittle. The steak dinner lacked flavor, and the beans were undercooked to the point of being inedible. The garlic Parmesan wings were also overly dry, making them difficult to eat.
While the service was courteous and our waiter was kind and understanding, the overall meal did not meet expectations. I would not recommend this restaurant based on my experience, as it did not feel worth the time or money.

I had a fantastic steak dinner at KOL while on a work trip in Carbondale. The restaurant was slow that evening which is a shame because locals should be taking advantage of this downtown amenity!

Megan, the bartender at Kol, has always been wonderful to my coworkers and myself whenever we stop for a drink after work. The service is great, and the drinks are inventive and delicious. Kol also boasts one of the best liquor selections in the area. While I have not yet had food from Kol, those in the groups I often go with have remarked on it’s great taste and quality.

Overpriced for the area and for the quality of the food. I expected when I paid $30 for a prime rib something different than what I got: precooked, frozen and reheated. This place could and should do better by ditching Sysco / US Foods and going with fresh ingredients sourced locally if they are going to attempt to sell food at the price point they ask.

The service was good. Drinks were made well but were delayed from time ordered. The steaks were not of good quality and very tough. The entree was visually appealing but was served well under temperature and quite bland. They are most definitely not a steak house as their name suggests. They need to procure a higher quality product and more qualified chefs.
They did not meet my expectations and will most likely not be a return customer.

We had a baby shower at the Kol Steakhouse earlier this month. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. We were never rushed or inconvenienced. The food was excellent! We were very pleased with our experience. Also, we stayed overnight in the Hotel Anthracite. Again, we were very pleased with the cleanliness of the room and the comfort it offered. The complimentary breakfast was a treat, as well. We ended up having all our meals at the Kol Steakhouse and they were great, as was the staff. High marks, no regrets!!!

My 2 daughters and I went for dinner on Friday 7/14/23, it was our first visit to Kol Steakhouse. I’m sorry to say the service was awful! Our waitress disappeared, she never came back to ask if we needed anything. We had to go to the bar to find out where she was so we could pay our bill and leave after being there 2 hours! The burgers and chicken were both undercooked. The only positive comment I have is the restaurant is very nice. We will not being going back due to an awful experience with the service and food.

Oh, my. Not good at all. Our food appeared to have been cooked prior and reheated-you know, like leftovers from your own fridge. The salmon was very dry and lukewarm and came out too quickly to justify being anything other than reheated. The hanger steak was edible but of poor quality. The mashed potatoes were hard, again obviously reheated in a microwave. No rolls or bread. No water poured. The green beans were sickly green and limp, definitely over cooked, yet lukewarm. The whole experience was so bad that we just sat there and laughed. We didn’t even complain because what would be the point? It was obviously sub par and it was sent out of the kitchen presumably by someone who could see. Burgers next to us looked decent and the local IPA on draft was great so stick to burgers and beer and definitely avoid the salmon and steak.
