Kohinoor Indian Restaurant in Kamloops is a hidden gem! The food is absolutely delicious, full of authentic flavors, and you can really tell it’s made with care. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and it feels even more special knowing the restaurant is run by a Nepali family. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable, perfect for both dine-in and takeout. Portions are generous, prices are reasonable, and everything we tried tasted fresh and flavorful. Highly recommend Kohinoor to anyone looking for great Indian food in Kamloops, BC!

Koh-i-Noor never disappoints, but their butter chicken truly deserves a special mention. It is hands down the best butter chicken in Kamloops, perfectly balanced, rich, creamy, and full of flavour without being overpowering. The chicken is always tender, the sauce is smooth and indulgent, and it’s clear everything is made with care and consistency. Every visit feels comforting and satisfying, and the quality never slips. If you’re a butter chicken lover, this is the place you have to try.

Butter chicken was very clearly watered down. It was a soup consistency and had a very watered down flavour – almost no flavour at all. I’ve had this same butter chicken numerous times years ago so I’m unsure if this is how they intend for it to taste now, or if this was a bad batch.

Only giving 2 stars because we enjoyed the samosas. Otherwise a very disappointing experience.

Very disappointing experience. We tried the buffet and honestly nothing tasted good. Most of the food had a really bad taste and it didn’t feel fresh at all. Considering how much we paid, it was definitely not worth it. Unfortunately, we left feeling like we wasted our money.

We stopped by for a quick dinner with the friends. The staffs were super welcoming and the ambience was great. We snacked on some pakodas while waiting for our food. Everything that we had was so fresh and delicious. There was a buffet set up as well which looked soooo good, the chef was so kind and polite. We’re definitely coming back!!

I have yet to go to a restaurant that was as hospitable as this one. They accommodated our late arrival and served us one of the best tasting meals we have had. We have been to many Indian restaurants in the Kamloops area and this is our new #1 favourite. We highly recommend going to this location, not only for the scenic views while dining, but for the amazing hospitality and authentic cuisine. They also have a good variety of dishes that don’t disappoint. You will find something that you like; and please try the Nepalese dishes, they are worth it!

I’ve been to this place several times and usually enjoyed the food, but three weeks ago I ordered around $110 worth of food and ended up throwing it all away because nothing tasted good. Everything was either bland or undercooked, with burnt Dal Makhani and chicken floating in watery curry. I called the owner, who promised to get back to me after discussing it with his daughter, but I never heard from him. After waiting over a week, I called again, and a server said she would notify the owner, yet still no response. The service at Kohinoor has never been this poor, and their handling of complaints is unacceptable. I’m sharing this experience along with a picture for reference. I wasted $110 on that dinner and had to order from elsewhere at 9:30 PM. Overall, it was a terrible experience.

Good people and delicious comfort food. We stumbled upon the place while driving to Vancouver from Clearwater and I am so glad we did. The owner (and chef) of the restaurant and his family are a delight. Thanks so much for great hospitality and delicious comfort food.

We tried: Momos, Chana Masala, Garlic Naan and Pakoras!

Absolutely Excellent! I have been there twice now, in the past two months, bringing various family members who all also enjoyed it. Beautiful view of Kamloops and its mountains and river in daylight and dreamily lighted cityscape at night. Very nice staff. Fair prices. Delicious food!
