Visited this establishment during a trip to the Richmond area. I love Korean food and trying “hole-in-the-wall” restaurants. Thus spot did not disappoint. It is a small cozy location with very limited seating but is nice spot off of the beaten path. The food very tasty and reasonably priced. The service was pretty good even though there was one person running the floor. I would definitely return to this spot when I’m in the area.

Every single thing on the food menu is phenomenal. I usually go there during quiet nights and the service and food is great. Tonight it was packed and busy and you can see all of the service staff shinning. Everyone came together and provided amazing food recommendations and more. The chef even gave us an extra appetizer for the wait even though the food came out right after!!!! It’s such a good neighborhood spot the happy hour is awesome $1 wing Wednesdays!?!! What more could you ask for.

Was lucky enough to get a seat at the bar before the rush. Literally every table and seat at the bar was occupied before 7pm. Jason was the best! He was running around taking care of everyone and everything. Happy hour from 5-7. Menu not pictured but it was about $1 off drinks. Beef bulgogi was mouth watering. I was only going to eat half but it was so good I was scraping the bowl.

We had a great experience at Kogi Bar and Grill.

From the moment our food hit the table, it was clear that a lot of care goes into both presentation and flavor. Everything we ordered was fresh, well-executed, and thoughtfully prepared. The standout for us was the hand-rolled crab Rangoon eggrolls — perfectly crisp on the outside with a rich, balanced filling. They were so good they disappeared almost immediately.

The atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable, and the service was attentive without being overbearing. It’s always exciting to see a new spot open and deliver on quality like this.

We’ll definitely be back and look forward to working our way through more of the menu.

Absolutely delicious vegan and vegetarian options! So fresh and flavorful, already craving it again. Place was busy and understaffed. Great for a small group of 2-4 people but space is too small to accommodate larger groups (5 or more). Regardless, we had a great time and the food was so tasty that we will definitely be back.

Wow this food fulfilled all of my hopes and dreams and was actually some of the best korean food ive ever had at a restaurant. Got the bulgogi bibimbap and wheww it was so packed with flavor and perfectly warm, spicy, sweet and tangy all at once.

First time here. Food was really good and so was the service. One guy tending to customers but he was really friendly. My only complaint is I was charged for an item I did not order nor received and did not realize it until I had left the restaurant.

The Korean food at the restaurant was absolutely incredible. From the tangy and spicy kimchi to the tender, flavorful beef and the perfectly crispy katsu, every dish was a delight. The kimchi had just the right balance of spice and acidity, adding a bold kick to the meal without being overpowering. The noodles were cooked to perfection—firm yet tender, absorbing the rich flavors of the broth or sauce they were paired with. One of the standout dishes was the loaded fries, which were generously topped with savory ingredients that complemented each other beautifully. Every bite was bursting with flavor, making it hard to put the fork down.

While the food was outstanding, the service, unfortunately, left much to be desired. Getting a simple refill for a drink proved to be quite a challenge, as the servers seemed either too busy or inattentive, honestly they could probably hire a few more people. There was no clear system for seating, as the restaurant operated on a first-come, first-served basis. This led to a chaotic atmosphere where customers were left scrambling to find a table. Some guests even ended up arguing over seating, which created unnecessary tension in what should have been an enjoyable dining experience. A host or a more organized seating arrangement would have made a significant difference in the overall experience.

Despite the lackluster service, the food alone made the visit worthwhile. Every dish was packed with authentic flavors, cooked to perfection, and presented beautifully. If the restaurant could improve its service and organization, it would easily become a top-tier dining destination. Until then, it’s best to go prepared for a bit of a wait and some patience—but rest assured, the food will more than make up for it.

The chicken katsu in my kimbap was dry, but overall good flavors, the tofu in their house bowl was delicious. The restaurant was busy at 7pm on a Friday and with only one server, the service was bound to be lacking. I think it’s a restaurant that serves solid food, I would be back.

Visited Richmond for the weekend and was told by my friend to stop by Kogi. It did not disappoint me at all. We ordered the kimchi pancake and it’s honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. Good portion size and flavorful. I also got the bulgogi house bowl and the meat is spectacular. It’s sweet, savory, and just melts in your mouth. My girl got the katsu chicken house bowl and loved it. Overall, great restaurant and would highly recommend others to try it out. They have a ton of drink options, good music, good portions, and you can tell they use fresh ingredients. Definitely on par with some of the Korean restaurants in Flushing, NY.
