This place is probably my favorite sushi restaurant. I often tell people I found the best sushi and it’s in the desert! Every time we visit our son in Phoenix we make a trip here. We’ve eaten at both this location and the Scottsdale one. Both restaurants have great, fresh sushi and fantastic service. Unfortunately, we eat the sushi so quickly I keep forgetting to take pictures, so don’t have many. But two items we really like and get every time: the Ahi Tower and Salmon.com. Both are fantastic, really, really good. But, if you just get some of the basics, like a Rainbow or California roll, those are awesome as well. One thing we really like is the purple rice they use – just gives a unique twist.
And again on the servers, very friendly, attentive, and quick. Whether it’s taking sushi orders, clearing plates, or refilling water, they are on it.
Again, really my favorite (or for sure top 2 or 3) sushi restaurant and always a must visit for us. Highly recommend.

Kodo has incredible service and sushi chefs. This was our second time coming and Hannah was a great server! The sushi is amazing and a fantastic value. My husband and I always leave super satisfied! The rolls are unique and come out lightning fast! I would highly recommend for any sushi lover!

I had an outstanding experience at Kodo Sushi Bar, and it absolutely deserves five stars. The sushi was fantastic, exceptionally fresh, beautifully prepared, and packed with flavor in every bite. You can really tell the quality of the ingredients is a priority here, and it shows across the entire menu. The service was equally impressive, with a friendly, attentive staff that made the experience feel welcoming without being overbearing. The atmosphere struck a great balance between relaxed and polished, making it an easy place to enjoy a casual lunch or a more deliberate sit-down meal. Everything was clean and well cared for, including the bathrooms, which is always appreciated. On top of all that, the lunch special is an incredible value for the quality and portion size. Amazing food, great service, and a place I’ll happily keep coming back to.

Kodo Sushi exceeded way beyond our expectations! The dishes do not skimp on fish whatsoever, and they taste super fresh! The sushi rice is purple rice, which personally, tastes lighter and better than sushi’s standard white rice. The Kodo roll comes with seared bluefin tuna, and it was delicious! You can really point out the seared tuna flavor. The Spicy Sashimi Salad didn’t skimp on any of the fish meats whatsoever, and can be a light meal in itself. The OMG roll and Salmon Lover were also delicious! Each roll had its own specialty flavor and didn’t disappoint us at any point. The drinks were superb esp the Lavender Margarita was slightly sweet and they don’t shy away from giving you a good amount of tequila. The Takara (Plum Wine) was more on the sweeter side, it reminded me of apple juice — except plum flavored. So if you like sweeter cocktails, this wine is a great option!

Eel, salmon, yellowtail, miso soup dynamite roll and other rolls, so good and fresh. Honestly, one of my favorite things there is their fresh chopped wasabi. The people there are so nice and accommodating, and very excited to welcome all customers.

Nicole was my bartender and I just have to say she was the best!! She made it a great experience and was extremely attentive, freindly, helpful, and very quick with the drinks, and orders! Not to mention it was a full bar and during a rush!! Top tier bartending!!! The food was also incredible she recommended the Volcano roll which was one of the best things I’ve had! The Kodo roll was a close second! The seaweed salad was also very delicious and something I always try at different sushi restaurants! She also recommended the Saki Colada which was absolutely delicious! Fantastic sushi restaurant!!

The people. The food. 10/10. No notes. Except for the cranky bartender lady. We have been loyal customers of the first location and when this recent location opened up, we could not wait to make it our new stomping grounds! We enjoy sushi all around the valley & this is hands-down the best quality fish. Every roll is amazing. Crunchy mango is a good place to start and Kode roll is phenomenal! Seared toro and salmon melt in your mouth and make sure you get a side of spicy Ponzu. I could go on and on, but it’s best you just stop in, you will not be disappointed! Huge selection sake!!!!!!
