Laid-back eatery serving South Indian specialties in a traditionally decorated space.

We never miss this place whenever we visit Ottawa. It’s one of the best Kerala restaurants I’ve been to in Canada. Last time, we tried the buffet, and the Kochi Shrimp Curry was absolutely delicious. The staff are friendly, and the service is excellent. A must-visit spot if you’re in Ottawa and want authentic Kerala food!

I recently visited Kochin Kitchen for the second time, and once again, it was a delightful experience. On both occasions, we opted for the buffet and thoroughly enjoyed every dish. The food is consistently delicious, with a well-curated selection of flavors that cater to a wide range of tastes.
One dish that stood out during our first visit was the prawns curry—it was exceptional and became the main reason we decided to return. However, we were a bit disappointed to find that it had been replaced with salmon curry this time. Upon mentioning this to the staff, we were pleasantly surprised when they prepared and served the prawns curry especially for us. This gesture highlighted their excellent customer service and commitment to guest satisfaction.
The dining space is spacious, with a pleasant atmosphere and great attention to hygiene. It’s a comfortable place to enjoy a meal, whether with family or friends.
What makes Kochin Kitchen even more appealing is that their food isn’t overly spicy, making it suitable for people with different spice preferences. Their buffet option offers something for everyone, making it a great choice for group dining.
Overall, I highly recommend Kochin Kitchen to anyone looking for flavorful, well-prepared food and a welcoming dining experience. It’s a must-visit!

The cravings to eat Malayalee food are always there when you’re living abroad. That’s exactly what happened when I was in Ottawa—I wanted to try a buffet, and this turned out to be a beautiful experience. We tried the buffet, and they had a great variety of dishes. Idly and dosa were made fresh and served hot on request, along with sambar and chutney. They also had biryani, kizhi potato, beef curry, and many other dishes. The desserts, including gulab jamun and payasam, were delicious too. The place is clean, and the customer service was excellent. It wasn’t too crowded, so there was space to sit, eat, and try everything comfortably. The only downside was finding parking. The buffet cost me $29, which I think is totally worth it. Definitely a must-try!

The Chicken Dum Biryani was packed with authentic flavor and truly satisfying! The Fish Thali also stood out with its rich South Indian taste in every dish. However, the BDF (Beef Dry Fry) and Chicken 65 fell short of expectations. Also, you might need to search for parking on Google Maps—it’s usually available on the next street nearby. Overall, a good experience with room for improvement on a few items.

This used to be our favourite Kerala restaurant in Ottawa, but the quality of the food has slightly declined over the past few years. We tried the Weekend Buffet priced at $25/person. There was no Kerala rice, and the dishes were less compared to the price. The prawns curry was delicious. The Mutton biryani was good but had very less quantity of mutton in it. Also finding parking is a task here. We parked at the paid public parking right behind the restaurant

I visited lunch buffet on a Monday and wasn’t expecting too many choices but I was amazed by the variety of items available.
For starters i started with salad and yoghurt, followed by multiple survings of Butter chicken, Pepper Lamb.
Then I tried chicken Peera and Mushroom masala along with kerala parota.
In end for dessert I had couple of gulab jamuns because I was full by end of main course.
Overall food was great and I loved the taste of Mushroom masala.
Will visit again soon for sure.

I recently visited Coachin Kitchenand had their special Chatty chor ,which included more than seven delicious curries. The food was absolutely amazing—each dish was flavorful and well-prepared! The ambiance was also great, making it a perfect spot for a family gathering.
The customer service was generally good, but at times, it could be a bit slow. However, the overall experience was fantastic, and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great dining experience. Looking forward to visiting again! ($28 )

We had both Veg/Non-Veg, the taste is really good and we didn’t have any complaints. Taste of mango lassi and lime juice are of different taste, but its good and both the chicken and sea food are fresh, we didn’t feel like its kind of old/frozen ones. would highly recommend this place. The place is clean, staffs are very nice and they explained the dishes to patiently which helps us to decide. Seems like we need to have reservation but we got the table for our lunch.
