If you come here, just stick to the lamb skewers — you really can’t go wrong with them. The lamb skewers are the must-order item every time.

Honestly, all of the Chinese dishes here are solid and taste great. Everything we tried was flavorful and well-cooked, so it’s a safe choice even if you order multiple dishes to share.

Highly recommended if you’re looking for good skewers and reliable Chinese food.

Kochi Maru is such a fun, flavorful place for a night out. The tableside charcoal grill makes everything taste extra smoky and satisfying, and the staff is super friendly and happy to explain how to cook the skewers the best way.

Must-try: the lamb skewers (juicy and aromatic), and the Guo Bao Rou / crispy sweet & sour pork—perfectly crunchy with that addictive tangy glaze. We also loved the cold noodles as a refreshing balance to all the BBQ.

Great vibe for groups, plenty of food, and a unique “DIY grill” experience you don’t get everywhere. Definitely coming back!

Absolutely loved this hidden gem in Doraville! The lamb skewers were juicy and flavorful, and the Guo Bao Rou (crispy sweet & sour pork) was hands-down the best I’ve had in years. Also loved the cold noodles with pickled veggies–super refreshing! Great drink options like fruity soju and honey pomelo tea. Perfect spot for groups too–they have big tables and even private rooms. Will definitely be back!

Food:
Their sweet & sour pork (锅包肉) is the best among all the ones I’ve had tried. Every time I come here, it’s my must-to-order. Their 烤冷面 (first pic) tastes also really good. I personally don’t like lamb but I loved the beef tendon skewers! We (2 people) wanted to order more food but the large portion of each item stopped us.

Service:
The food came pretty quickly. The server welcomed us and was very nice.

Atmosphere:
The restaurant isn’t that big but enough to have privacy as they leaves enough room between tables. The place was maintained clean and well.

The only live BBQ restaurant in Atlanta! Live BBQ is much better than kitchen-made BBQ, in my opinion. The portions were okay. But the meat needed more flavor. The spices could be improved adding cumin. The cold noodles 拉皮 were very good. And nice service. I really hope they can improve and have the potential to become a top pick in Atlanta.

This spot lets you grill the skewers yourself, so everything comes out sizzling hot and freshly charred. It honestly feels like a late-night street food scene in China

⭐ Beef tendon skewers : incredibly tender with the perfect marinade. Flavorful without being overly salty. 9.5/10

⭐ The seafood & chicken feet stew: Loaded with fresh crab packed with roe, shrimp, wings, and chicken feet. The broth leans slightly sweet and savory, tastes very natural, and doesn’t have that artificial hotpot-base flavor.9/10

⭐ spicy rice noodles ; they soak up the broth beautifully and make the dish even more satisfying. Broth is too light, recommend to add more chili oil, is not spicy at all!! 8/10

Perfect for group dinners, food adventures, or if you just love authentic Chinese BBQ experiences.

Ultimate BBQ tableside experience

It’s my goal to bring you all of the best Chinese style BBQ kebab spots in Metro Atlanta and more. This is the ONLY location with an automatic rotating tableside BBQ with real charcoal, delivered fresh to the table.

If you are a fan of Korean BBQ, then you’ve got to try this fun spot with friends.

While this spot does not have the highest quality kabob meat, it is definitely a fun experience that I bring friends ansld family to when I have a group of 4-8 people.

On a positive note, the skewers are not as salty as other places. So, you can ask for a spice tray to add to your food for more spice and salt.

Note: BBQ grills are at large table only with a minimum of $80 for the entire table. Good for large groups.

These skewers were so yummy! We got the lamb skewers, beef skewers, beef tendon meat, tripe, pork skin, kidney, lamp chop, steamed buns, and the lamb soup. We also got rice (not pictured because rice is rice is rice). Everything was very tasty and reasonably priced! My favorites were the beef tendon meat and the lamb soup. They also provided us with a spice mix to dip the meat into that was smoky, spicy, and super addicting.

When we ordered the steamed buns, I thought they would just be grilled but they also came with a condensed milk drizzle which was a nice surprise! The condensed milk drizzle was tasty, but if you’re not looking for a sweet bun I would specify that you want them to leave it off.

Our rice was also freshly freshly made! It came out steaming hot and it was really tasty to eat with the lamb soup.

The only thing I didn’t personally enjoy was the tripe, but that’s because I’m not a huge fan of tripe to begin with. My friends that I went with really enjoyed the tripe.

After everything was said and done, it was a super satiating meal and I’m so happy I got to try this place out!!

First time visiting kochi maru. I heard a lot of good stuffs about this restaurant and I decided to give it a shot. When I entered the building there was empty like a ghost town. Two employees were inside the kitchen and one of them gave the menu and offered $80 to sit at the grill table. The server kept asking even though I said I am good. Just like any other reviews written about the small portion and high price, it is exactly the same. I don’t think I would never come back to this place.
