This was the first time at this restaurant and with absolute certitude my last. The take out shrimp Pad Thai was absolutely inedible -extremely sweet and heavily soaked in a sauce that made me feel sick after eating a few bites. Did not feel fresh but more like “recycled” food. The shrimp were unevenly cooked as if in mixed from different sources or orders-some soft, some hard. I almost damaged my teeth biting into a hardened piece of garlic I think that was like a tiny rock. For the prices they are charging and the fact that they provided no utensils or even a napkin with the order, I felt sorry afterwards for not taking it back. Money down the drain literally. The restaurant appearance is definitely deceiving. Going back to my favorite Asian Restaurant in Middletown whose service and food are worth every penny.

Always great food when we come to Kob Jai. During the summertime, the wait for the ordered food was extremely long due to short staffing but it is worth it. The restaurant name is a little bit deceiving because the menu only consists of one pho choice and the rest is Thai/American-Thai fusion (incl. ramen soon to come). We try to order different entrees and they knock it out of the park. The flavor profiles are spicy, tangy and sweet which we love. Definitely one of the better, if not best Thai restaurants in CT. Vegetarian-friendly ! (Pictured are Thai iced teas, Drunken noodles with beef, Tom Yum Katee noodle soup with tofu, and Papaya salad.)

Best Curry Puffs I have ever had. The pastry was buttery and flaky. The stuffing was well seasoned with a delicious dipping sauce. The Khao Soi was also a delight. The spicy creamy coconut broth was so comforting on a chilly day.

Our family came here to celebrate my mom’s birthday and we had a wonderful experience. The staff was kind, the restaurant was beautiful, the service was fast, and of course the food was delicious! I loved the spicy red snapper and the seafood lad na! Definitely a great spot and we will be back!

Easy to see why this restaurant was rated as one of the “Best” places by CT Magazine for 2022. Great decor, very clean, friendly staff. The menu is amazing, so many items its difficult to decide what you want to order!! Portions are very large and if you are a fan of Thai Food – this place is worth the drive to.

I was in town for a business meeting and didn’t have much time to eat approximately 45 minutes so I decided I would quickly have Thai food. Now normally the Thai food that I eaten has always been delicious but I never tried it out of my area. So I was a little skeptical. However when I walked in here saw all the beautiful artwork on the wall and the very first door I injured had a display of statues plants and beverages pretty much like an altar I was like this seems pretty authentic. As I begin to take pictures of this place I realize that there’s a strong possibility that the way I like my Thai pad maybe done correctly after all. I really like the cleanliness of this place. The staff member who took my order at all male with short hair was professional but he didn’t smile I mean a business owner or employee doesn’t necessarily have to smile in order to get the job done right? But at least put on a pleasant face. His face was just drab. Nonetheless he did his job took my order and answer my questions. I ordered the best tasting Thai pad I have ever tasted. I was so shocked. When I eat Thai pad from New York they never include a line I squeeze the line on top of my meal and it helped to bring out the different flavors that were mixed inside of the sauces. We also ordered a red curry chicken dish I forgot what it was. My girlfriend ordered drunken noodles and need I say yes my greedy self took at least about five bites of each one of those dishes and I must say it was damn good. In a way I’m kind of upset that I ate there because this restaurant is in Connecticut. I’m sure they don’t do any special deliveries. LOL. I just happened to be strolling up the block so to discover it was a gem. There’s no special flashing lights or a big dragon seated on the roof or Thailand wrutung on the walls on the outside saying welcome it’s just a plain place on the outside no extra decor. I found it a little strange however that with food so good it was no one in the restaurant seated at the tables. However they were phone calls coming in and there was another patron who came in after me. Maybe perhaps when I came in it was too early I don’t know but if I’m ever in this part of Connecticut again I certainly will stop in for dinner, lunch, even breakfast if they offered it LOL. Keep doing what you do call Kob Jai Pho, I was very pleased with my order. I meant to take a picture of my meal but once I tasted it I totally forgot I was going to write a review.

Love this Thai fusion restaurant near me. Best Thai tea hands down (very authentic tasting and not like the stuff you get at bubble tea places). We got the fried rice with crispy chicken. One order was enough to feed 2 people. Their calamari was crispy and pairs great with the spicy sauce.

We stopped in Rocky Hill for one night while on our way fro FL to NH. After reading a few reviews we decided to have our dinner at Kob Jai. We had the vegetable spring rolls, Tom Kha soup, and the chicken fried rice. Everything was delicious. The restaurant has a great vibe and all the staff is very friendly.
