This is a good place to get value breakfast. The portions are quite large for the price (for Hawaii, at least)
The taste is okay. Pancakes are decent, coffee is just coffee.
I like that you can have white or brown rice with your breajfast choices, but there are more “traditional” American options, like hash browns, etc.
It’s great for a budget friendly breakfast for someone who is particularly hungry.

Only place open early on Sunday at Kamakana. Go early cause they get busy real fast. Seating is limited, just as their other locations. Good local style Hawaiian diner food. Love the Kalbi. 3 big thick pieces with fried rice and 2 eggs. Stake and Eggs was also impressive, not the greatest but certainly not the worst. It satisfied the craving. Perfectly cooked to order. Pancakes was thick and fluffy. The food will keep you satisfied on a lazy Sunday.

Environment/Parking:
Enjoyed a delicious breakfast with my family at Koa Pancake House (previously Koa Cafe) in Ka Makana Ali’i mall. It was a Tuesday around 830am, so it wasn’t too busy in the restaurant. It’s open seating and no reservations. There was plenty of parking when we went. If it does get crowded, there’s a bench outside to wait on. As of 7/10/24, there’s two Koa Pancake House restaurants in Kapolei. One at the Ka Makana Ali’i mall and one at the Kapolei Shopping Mall/Marketplace, so be sure to place an order at the correct location.

Service:
The service is normally courteous and friendly, but it was one of those days where it was…mediocre. You can also order online on their website.

Food:
We love the variety of food they have.
I’ve eaten their pancakes which are super moist (chocolate chip pancakes are my fave), their French toast (both plain and the sweet three-one of my faves), and their waffles (Belgian and the guava mochi waffle-one of my faves). I ordered the guava mochi waffle this time around, which took a little while, but worth it. They also have a variety of eggs Benedict options

Drinks: I wish I could give them a 4.5 star rather than a 4 star, mainly because of their coffee. There’s nothing special about it, and I believe every breakfast place should have at least a good tasting house coffee. Adding a special flavored coffee to their menu would be a bonus! Self serve fountain drinks.

Prices/Discounts:
Their prices are decent and not too steep.
This place also offers a 10% military discount every Monday. You’ll need to ask and show your ID. Always subject to change.
You can also sign up to earn points for future discounts.

Great place to eat! The service is excellent and quick. Big enough space to dine in with a baby/stroller. It was my first time trying and loved their food! Definitely will be going again!

Had an awesome breakfast here! You walk in, order and find a table and they bring the food out to you. It can get a little busy here and there’s not a ton of room, so just be aware of that. I got the plate breakfast trio with over easy eggs and toast with a half stack of banana pancakes.. Was super full after that. My wife got a locomoco and macadamia nut half stack and was very happy.

Best affordable breakfast I’ve had on Oahu. Came with a family of 8. It’s more counter service, so you walk, order, and sit down and they drop it off when it’s ready.

The wife and I ordered macadamia nut pancakes and the “koa moco”. Koa moco was a loco moco but the hamburger patty also came with corn beef hash. Solid flavors, gravy is tasty, runny eggs, over rice. Mac nut pancakes were great with the haupia syrup (request for it).

The rest of the family ordered whip cream waffles, strawberry pancakes, seafood omelette, etc. all of it delicious. Each plate averaged around $10-$15 at most, so it’s affordable to dine in with a group.

Location for this is great if you are at the mall. Breakfast is what I come for here, always good, hot and fast service. Friendly too. Thanks for that.

Been here twice and enjoyed having breakfast here. Lucky to come in before the crowd. I do agree that if you are treating the place not like a restaurant with a wait time and seating you expect to order in a few minutes and get you food within 10-15 mins like a dine like L&L not super long.
Loved the fresh squeezed orange juice, pancakes & sweet bread French toast

Slow service. Nice menu. Below average food. Food delivery timing is way off. I would not go back and wouldn’t recommend any location.
