Great service, reasonable prices, and decent ambience. Only complaint is that they serve escolar/butterfish as part of their assorted sashimi. It’s not even legal to serve the fish in Japan and it was a bummer to find it on our plate. I assume some people like it, but it was disappointing for us.

The other people on here are right about the Tonkotsu Ramen. This probably exceeds most ramen-only shops. I don’t usually drink the soup but I find myself almost polishing it off. It’s light but filled with umami flavor and the grilled pork is amazing too. They didn’t take any shortcuts with the onsen egg too, it has the shoyu flavor it’s supposed to and just slightly underdone. The atmosphere is chill and homely and service is quick. You can leave in 15-20 minutes or stay for however long. Definitely coming back and trying other stuff on the menu!

I really enjoyed my experience here. It felt genuinely authentic without trying too hard. The food was amazing, the ramen was the best i’ve ever had in Halifax. Definitely will come back again.

Lovely Ramen! The egg, the meat, the broth … Flavors and quantity.. top notch. Welcoming staff and for being in the basement of a mall, the atmosphere is pleasant!

My new favorite sushi place in the city , a little hidden view from the street you come down some stairs and just order everything at the counter and sit after ( aka the servers wont take your order at the table but they do deliver the food at your table ) you pay upfront , it’s practical unless you have free room for desert.

We sat and the ambiance is like manga style with a lot a books in Japanese around us , dont get fooled by the decoration because the food is AMAZING trust me I have been to many fancy Japanese restaurants and this one is just as delicious ! We ordered a little bit of everything my personal opinion on the hot sushis ( smoke salmon ) not my cup of tea but my date loved it . And the seaweed salad very tasty, we almost got back again to the restaurant 2 days later because we loved it so much .

So guys if you are looking for a delicious sushi this is the place ! ( i am not even sponsoring this lol ) out of true enjoyment of a lovely night out

Absolutely fantastic place for authentic Japanese fare. The folks who own the place were all super cool, and the food was top notch. My personal favorite was the onigiri, out of this world with how good it tasted. Prices are great for the amount of food you get, especially with the lunch combinations. I’ll definitely be stopping by should I visit the area again, and you should do the same.

The food is fantastic. I had ramen bowl and several rolls. The rolls were excellent but the ramen is one of the best I have ever had. So flavourful and the pork melts in your mouth. Worth coming for ramen alone.

Atmosphere is very cozy and could have a quiet conversation. A must if you are a sushi and ramen lover.

This is my favourite restaurant in Halifax to get sushi. I have been going here for years because the service, quality and food is the best. Their staff are always friendly and helpful. I’ve never had a bad experience. I highly recommend. They also do amazing sushi trays which we’ve purchased for events.

Excellent sushi, best I’ve had in Halifax. Not as good as the Dartmouth original but still fantastic. Great service from the man who runs it, quick, comfortable, quiet, and great atmosphere.

This restaurant is a gem. Our sushi was delicious, the seafood was super fresh, and the pieces were big enough you could actually taste them, unlike in so many other sushi restaurants. The owner and staff were welcoming and attentive. This is a cozy, quirky place, spacious yet intimate, and the soft jazzy music in the background added to the ambience. We will come back, and also try the other great looking japanese dishes on the menu.
