First time coming here and absolutely loved it. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the staff were outstanding. I loved hearing about the history of the restaurant which is family owned. Menu is outstanding. Can’t wait to come back. Pull tabs and etabs.

Wait a second… Hear me when I say this, one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten. Just look at how many reviews I have done, I don’t take it lightly stating quality sandwich. This sandwich was outstanding. Generous portion of prime rib, great seasoning and BBQ. I got a side of cottage cheese but for others they had many choices of sides. Worth the drive, worth the stop. I choose this place based on their reviews and it payed off. I will be back.

The prime was PERFECT! Just melted in the mouth and amazing flavor!
We ALWAYS get the walleye bites to start….sooooo good…. and the tartar sauce(homemade) is to die for!
Pictured with the prime was a special….. the shrimp was THE BEST I’ve ever had, did the spicy and it was just the right amount of heat.
Everyone is super nice and will go the extra mile.
Bring the kiddos, or sneak away for adult time, either way you’ll be having a fun time and amazing food!!
Very highly recommend taking a drive to enjoy everything!
*Also have the best arcade game BIG BUCK HUNTER….. so even more fun *

Not typical food for the area. Nothing super unusual, but some unique offerings. Known for their prime rib sandwich varieties. And good with the smoker. We tried the Northwoods Prime Rib Sandwich, Smoked Chicken Bacon Ranch Sandwich, Sweet Potato Fries, Onion Rings, and Smoked Jalapeño Poppers for an appetizer. The Poppers were awesome. The rest was good. The gal bartending and serving us was very good. Very friendly atmosphere.

Great food amazing people!! This is our go to place for the best food and company in the entire area. We love the personal service and friendliness of the owners and all the folks working there. The smoked prime rib is so delicious and they have quality steaks and know exactly how to cook them. They have added for-sale now to make them a 1 stop on our way through. They have direct access on Hwy 71 with plenty of parking for trailers and on the trail for a great stop with a snowmobile or atv.

We stopped by Knob and Kettle and had an overall okay experience. The food itself was decent—nothing bad, but nothing that really stood out either. The service could’ve been a bit more attentive, which took away from the experience. However, dessert completely turned things around — it was excellent and definitely the highlight of the meal!

Excellent food. Reasonable prices. Generous portions. Pull tabs. ATM. Darts and a pool table. Friendly service. Six beers on tap, including many craft beer choices. There’s a kids menu with reasonably priced meals and large portions. Overall the whole family enjoyed the meal and was impressed with the quality of the food. Minus one star for implenting a surcharge of 3.5% when using a credit or debit card (and not having a disclaimer on the menu).

My all time favorite restaurant. The north woods sandwiches belong on Mount Rushmore. It is well worth the 220 mile trip up north to stop here, my entire family has apparel from there as well. The #1 place to eat in the entire Midwest, a true hidden gem.

If you are traveling to Itasca State Park, this is the place to stop for lunch or dinner! You get the lodge look with a five star restaurant. The prime rib was done to perfection. Chicken Alfredo with homemade sauce was very good, salad was crisp and cold, and top it with bread pudding for dessert made by the owner. Our server, Victoria was attentive, efficient with “up north” charm. The bathrooms were spotless. And the dining attendant that was sweeping the floor was very pleasant. What’s not to like?
When you see the Hubbard County sheriff deputies and MN highway patrol dining here, it’s a good indication that this is the place to eat!
