My wife and I were staying at the nearby State Park and were looking for a new spot to have dinner. I went in and ordered at the counter since we had our pup with us. Our food was ready in 10-15 mins. The staff was very friendly at every point of the sale, from ordering to receiving.

Amazing! The food & service were outstanding we were very impressed with the service inspite of it being very busy when we arrived. The veggie burger was amazing, and on one of the best gluten-free buns I’ve ever had! The walleye & other appetizers were also some of the best. Truly a hidden gem. Amazing staff & owner. 10 out of 10.

What a wonderful place! I visit Lake George frequently so it is nice to have a restaurant nearby. The service here is great, the food is well portioned, fairly priced, and very tasty and the service is fantastic. If you are in the area I highly recommend you stop in for a bite or drink! You wont be disappointed!

This was our second time here. The first time we were here, the whole restaurant filled up with smoke due to an issue they were having with the smoker or something. We had the prime rib which didn’t have any real seasoning to it other than a really strong smoke flavor (not sure if that is how it always is or if it was just due to the other issue they were having). Between the smoke in the air and the heavy smoke flavor of the food, it was not a good experience.

First time here. The food was amazing. I had the Northwoods sandwich. The bread was fresh and flavorful and exceeded my expectations. Was not shy on prime rib and the horseradish sauce was enough to give you that fix without overwhelming. I had tomato basil soup as my side and I’d go back for that alone. Highly recommend.

I had the French Dip sandwich and chocolate cake (with cream cheese icing), and both were delicious! My family liked their grilled cheese and Buffalo Chicken wrap a lot, too. In addition to the great food, the service is friendly and welcoming.

It’s been two years since I was able to come eat here and they are still amazing. They’re famous for the Northwoods sandwich, but their Texas prime rib sandwich is a contender and I was very happy with my chicken with cranberry aioli sandwich. But best of all is their Italian prime rib soup. I could eat it once a day instead of just once a year!

We arrived at our Four Season Suites at Itasca State Park and the Douglas Lodge Restaurant is closed. Plan B: drive over to Knob & Kettle Restaurant. The place has the north woods decor, friendly staff. Our server, Savannah, was efficient and friendly. The Fried Walleye was good, a bit too much batter. The Northwoods Prime Rib hit the spot for me with a side of Beer Battered Fries. The best part: we can tap & pay at the table to the server (I recall there is 1 restaurant in Minneapolis that also lets you tap & pay at the table). Who says that restaurant in the north woods are behind in tech? Not this place.

It’s a very nice place don’t get me wrong…. My brother and I came in to have a drink and maybe some appetizers. I felt there wasn’t enough help it took quite a while to get our drink kind of felt ignored. Somebody finally acknowledged us and said they would be right with us. After she took care of 3 other customers. Yes they were already there before we were. But I don’t think you can run a place with 2 weight staffs. One wasn’t old enough to pour alcohol. So now you’re down to one. One beer and 1 vodka and soda. Nine dollars….

I was disappointed in my last trip to Knob & Kettle. I ordered the Prime Stroganoff special. My server didn’t know much about it except that others had said it was good. It didn’t come with any sides or bread. When it arrived at the table it was a plate of pasta with the stroganoff sauce. There was no meat and only a few mushrooms. It was tasty, but again there was no meat on my plate. When the bill came I found out that I was going to pay $22 for a plate if pasta. Everything is normally really good here, so I will go back. Special prices should be posted and servers should know the specials and what is served with them.
