Love the variety and quality on the menu. Had the Banana Chocolate Chip Shirt Stack pancake special and the Turkey Pastrami Reuben. Both were excellent and filling! The server was wonderful and they have a nice bakery section to bring home bread and dessert. They can get busy on a Sunday morning depending on what time you go but you can see why. 5 stars!

If you’re looking for a basic breakfast experience, in the classic Jewish deli style, you’ll be happy. Nothing will blow your mind, but you’ll leave satisfied.

I ordered the smoked salmon Benedict, my wife ordered the loaded Latkes. I think the latkes were better.

Nothing bad about the Benedict, but nothing special either. Honestly, they could at least sprinkle some chives or parsley on top. Right now, it’s sort of an under-seasoned hollandaise…desperately searching for more salt and maybe some vinegar or hot sauce. I added a lot of Tobasco, and a generous shower of salt to the whole plate, especially the bland and barely crispy home fries. But the smoked salmon is super fresh and they serve a generous portion. Eggs were perfectly poached.

The latkes are good, but more like a crispy Spanish tortilla-basically a mini potato frittata crispy-fried. It was thick, dense and eggy, not the way my grandmother would’ve made them. No super crunchy and lacy edges. But they cover the whole thing with a chopped Nova lox and red onion relish; that part is delicious.

Worst part was the coffee. Bland and watery. Best part was the lox: salty, fresh, and a bouyant mouth-feel.

The service is classic diner/deli: treat them well and they’ll return it.

A no-frills breakfast. Don’t expect too much and you’ll be happy.

Great place for breakfast. Casual but very clean. The food was presented well and was delicious. Looking forward to trying their lunch menu.

I went to Knishes & Dishes in Lafayette Hill after seeing mostly positive Google reviews, but unfortunately my experience didn’t live up to the hype. The overall cleanliness was a big letdown — the dining area felt neglected, and the restrooms were especially dirty, which really affected the experience.

The food itself was just okay. Nothing was terrible, but nothing stood out either. For the prices, the portion sizes were smaller than expected, and the flavors were pretty mediocre overall. I had hoped for more authenticity and care, especially given the restaurant’s reputation.

I really wanted to like this place, but between the cleanliness issues, small portions, and average food, it was disappointing. Hopefully this is something they can improve on, because the concept has potential.

Such good food. A bit pricey for what we expected from a diner ($17 for a California chicken burger, for instance), but the portions were very large. If you are not feeding a teenager, you could probably get two meals with the leftovers. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food and we will definitely go back. The salmon Benedict was an unexpected treat.

Place is fire.

The Kippered Salmon lox were amazing. The salmon was perfectly smoked. It was packed with flavor and flaky to the bite.

I’ve never had had scrapple before. It is amazing. I could put it in my pocket and take bites of it through the day. Sooooo darn good.

Solid home made cheese cake.

We got latkas and shared a smoked fish platter. All of it was delicious, kudos on the quality. The latkas were really thick and perfectly cooked. The fish platter was delicious but the portion was quite disappointing. We might go back but the portion size of the fish platter might give us pause.

OMG. The food here was so good. And the portions were amazing! We totally stumbled on this place, we were hungry and just saw the sign and pulled in. The outside is nothing to speak of, but then we went in and it was packed! Always a good sign. I guess locals know how good and authentic the food is, but I’m here to tell all you travelers that is definitely worth seeking out. If you are looking for authentic Jewish favorites you will find them! I had the loaded latkes (picture) and couldn’t finish although it was so good! My husband had a western omelette (picture). Atmosphere is nothing fancy, but it was clean.

Came here on Friday 9.26.25 at around 11am for breakfast. We waited at the door for someone to seat us. Made eye contact with a server and she kind of ushered us over to a table from across the room, I asked if we could sit in one of the many available booths. She very dramatically rolled her eyes, dragged herself over to us with the menus that she very coldly set on the table with a scowl and didn’t not say a word to us. No good morning no how are you guys today, nothing. Just walked away visibly irate that we wanted to sit in a booth. This isn’t the first time we have had this experience with this server. She always seems visibly peeved about people wanting to sit in the booths.

I want to speak directly to this lady when I ask, what is the problem? Of course people would rather sit in a cushy booth instead of stiff chairs if they are available. None of the other servers behave this way and it’s a real drag to walk in there and see you because we know your just going to give us a hard time about attempting to enjoy what is not a cheap breakfast in comfort. If you have the available booths then why not

Let me further say for a grown lady to behave like a petulant child because she isn’t getting her way is insane me. Maybe you haven’t noticed but you are in the hospitality industry not the hostility industry. This lady would be far more suited in a career of euthanizing puppies instead of serving people brunch.

I hope this review will make it to the owners because we love Knishes but we simply refuse to endure the presence of this lady ever again. Completely ruins what is otherwise a really pleasant experience.
