Knight Farm, Farmer’s Omelette Breakfast Restaurant – Reviews …
We Had A Really Nice Breakfast On This North Scituate Farm
Reviews
I really really hate to criticize a small family business… but the one thing that was not excellent was our omelettes (Ironic, considering the place is called the Farmers Omelette). I ordered a “western omelette” as I tend to do. it looked ok, visually, but the peppers inside my omelette were over cooked, to the point of being mushy and olive green. I could live with that. The home fries were ok… but the portion was super small… the flavor was good, but they lacked and sort of crispness or texture. I could live with that too. The part that was really disappointing even unappetizing about our meal was that the inside of both omelettes at our table were very watery… like wet. (Can’t tell from photos)
It didn’t seem like undercooked egg, it seemed like the vegetables or ham inside the omelette had released tons of moisture inside the omelette, making it one of the worst I’ve had …possibly ever.
I’m definitely going back to the farmers omelette restaurant though. Why? After that omelette experience? Because the service was excellent, the staff was super friendly and welcoming… and because the parking lot and restaurant were both full… they’re doing something good (besides that western omelette today). Everyone has an off day. If I have a better experience next time, I’ll update my review. I really want to like this place.
I always go for the larger breakfast when I go out bacon was just like the way I like it!
Will definitely be back with my boyfriend one weekend!
Im not trying to shame a small business by any means. But we got food poisoning. I figured this review would be good for people who have a sensitive stomachs.
Atmosphere – looks cute/down to earth. It was a full house and we did have to be on a waitlist to be seated. Once inside, it was loud and waitresses were yelling across the room at everything. It appeared to be unorganized and chaotic.
First Seated- waited long time with no menus to look at or water. Waitress kept forgetting us and our needs throughout the experience. She seemed to make it a priority to talk to incoming guest.
Food- canned processed food(like hormel corned beef hash).Stale bread that was burnt. Cheap eggs with neon yellow colored yolks. The potatoes tased old, like sprouted potatoes ones. They were oil soaked soggy home fries. They came beyond small portion. ( we think we got sick off of these)The french toast was the only thing that was visually appealing. But the neufchatel cheese(not cream cheese) filling over took the taste and ruined it.
My Daughter ended up getting food poisoning. She was in and out of the bathroom for the rest of the day. I felt ill and had to lay down. I noticed when I was eating that they are cooking with the lowest quality of foods and they tasted old. (Remember they are only open on weekends. So I can’t image how fresh the pantry/walk-in items are.) We didn’t finish our plates and when I don’t polish off my plate…there’s something seriously wrong. I made a joke to my daughter saying that maybe they just do this for fun because it didn’t seem like a serious restaurant. For the money I spent on the bill, it was the enough to buy everything of better quality at the store and have it for the whole week. For the high price they are charging I expected two things. Either large portions or small portions with amazing quality and taste. This did not fit either of those expectations. If you’re hungry, keep driving because there’s better places not that much further. Love yourself. You will thank me later.
So, after my daughter’s 5th trip into the bathroom…I jumped on google to read the reviews. After scrolling, I do feel validated. Our experience wasn’t the first and was consistent with other guest. It seemed like it has so much potential but after 8+ years of the same reviews it’s apparent they have no means on improving or changing.
I’m not sure how they are still in business for concerns and health code violations. Without harm and true honesty, I serve my dog better quality food than what we given today. Sad face.
Update: I still feel ill from leaving knight farms and its been now 7 hours. My Daughter hasn’t been able to stop visiting the bathroom and is in distress. I think we are in for the long haul. Please change for the health of the customers or don’t be a business at all.
