Reviews
The table started with drink orders. Flinger’s has an extensive beer list with a great variety of both draft and cans/bottles. Like and idiot, I order a Manhattan; and I got what I deserved. I should NEVER order a mixed drink from a place with a full two-sided menu of beers. A couple of others at our table ordered some of Flinger’s “signature cocktails” and were equally disappointed. All of the cocktails were poorly proportioned (ratio’s of alcohol to mixes was way off). Not to mentions when we ordered the staff continued to come back, asking more and more questions on how we wanted said cocktails made – clearly not their forte.
In the spirit of being fair let’s take a pause for a brief intermission from the negative…the staff, all of them, were really good. They were nice and very accommodating and if the staff alone was being rated, they’d get four or five stars.
Okay, intermission is over.
We ordered some apps for the table. If memory serves me correctly, we ordered ranch wings, honey mustard wings, hot wings, Thai-chili wings, fried cheese and pretzel bites. I thought the hot wings, pretzel bites and fries cheese was really good. The sauce with the fried cheese was odd; I don’t think it paired nicely with the cheese. The rest – thanks but no thanks. Some of the wings were not cooked properly and that kind of stopped me from finishing what I had on my plate.
Last but not least – entrees. Several ordered salmon and one order for the tuna tacos and steak tacos was placed, I stuck with vegetable quesadillas with sweet potato fries. At this point I have zero confidence in proper cooking techniques so I stuck with veggies. Food arrived in good time and to quickly sum up the rest of the meal:
Salmon – though as a board
Sweet potato fries- over cooked and soggy
Tuna tacos – one thumb up
Steak tacos – one thumb up
Veggie quesadillas- one and a half thumbs up
General comment was “broccoli is awesome”! So to wrap up – beer and veggies and your all set here!
Nice staff
Enjoyable surroundings
Food was okay I got a burger and for ten bucks I was at least expecting a hand molded burger. I was not impressed with a skimpy pressed one!
Add another dollar to the price and make a real burger!
Fries were frozen too!
My mule was pleasant.
Would I go back?
No
I’ll try another place
We eat out on the patio on a warm night, but the shade from the building next door and a breeze kept it comfortable. There is slight noise from the road, but overall perfect outside.
The waitstaff was young but very helpful. Very courteous and offered lots of knowledge and suggestions.
I am not certain where some of the bad reviews have come from since they only opened in late May, 2016. The prices are not on the inexpensive side, but the food is exceptional!
