Two stars is being generous because the staff.
Got 3 lunch specials, goat, chicken stew and baked chicken. Also picked up maduros, sancocho and chicharron.
First.. goat and chicken stew was good.
Sancocho was delicious and they use spare ribs(a plus)
Madoros was good too.
Terrible fails ..
Dried out bake chicken and chicharron.
And unfortunately disappointing.
I guess I will have to go back to my place in Jamaica.
The people working behind the counters were so nice and answered patiently when we had questions about the menu. The empanadas were freshly made. The chicken and rice were classically delicious. They gave a generous portion of chicken!
I will definitely come back the next time I visit. ✈️
Short line with a bunch of happy faces eagerly awaiting their meals is what I was greeted with. When I saw the food in the display cases, they were steaming hot and just starting to be consumed, so I knew it was fresh. I asked if they had “tostones,” and my guy said, “Of course, but they’re made to order, and it will take 5 minutes.”
That’s when I decided to dine in. The pernil (roast pork), moro/congri, tostones, flan, & ginger beer to wash it down was all I needed. Everything was delicious, hot & fresh. One order of tostones was enough for 3 people. #LocalGem #GoodEats #theresthatfoodie
They serve lunch and dinner, and there are options to eat in and take out. I’ve done both and the food is always consistent. The prices are relatively cheap for the amount of food you get.
If you like the weight you’re at now, I strongly suggest you avoid. If you’re planning to hibernate for the winter, this is definitely the place you want to visit. Or if you just like good food, and can control yourself, check this place out.
The lunch special portion was a full plate. There are lots of different options with varying prices which I love. It was pretty decent though I wanna try more and maybe some speciality items from the menu as well. I had pepper steak and rice and beans. My boyfriend had roast chicken with rice and beans. We got a well done order of yucca fries and that hit the spot. The hot sauce we were given sucked!! Should have asked for something else but they were nice enough to let us eat at the counter.
3 stars for food. It was pretty basic but decent. And another star for service. The owner was there, he said hello and seemed involved which I think is important. All the girls behind the count we were very polite and super helpful. They know what they are doing !!
**The lunch special is only to go.
