Great staff, horrible sushi. The spicy tuna had a filler. The fish itself was not fresh. I could not eat it.
Go to a big sushi place and ask them where they get their ahi. Don’t be cheap!! Investing in good quality food brings guests.
Fried food is easy, and cheap, but you won’t get my business

Delicious food and very clean restaurant. Hidden off Mohawk next to Village Inn. This is a gem for those that enjoy Asian cuisine.

Just wanted to pick up some Chinese food on the way home and this place hit the mark. The pricing led me to believe the food wouldn’t be very good (it was cheap!) but I was proven wrong. It was very good. It’s in a “hotel restaurant” that looked like it used to be a diner or something, so it is by no means walking into a PF Chang’s or anything, but if you’re looking for beef and broccoli, Kung Pao Chicken and some hot and sour soup, do not pass this place up. Wife and I each made two meals out of it and it was under $40 including tip!

Family run business. Great service and great food! I ordered beef chow mein with some adjustments and they attended to that which I truly appreciate. Highly recommend and would definitely come back!

Truly a family restaurant, we were seated by a 2-year-old who made sure to entertain us the whole time we were eating with plenty of chasing around the restaurant with his older sibling who helps run the place. It didn’t bother my friend and I, at times it was even cute. The food was delicious and we plan on coming back again soon.

The Food was excellent. My family was a little early for the dinner rush so we had the restaurant to ourselves. It was a nice and peaceful place to eat. I highly recommend this place. We had the Teriyaki Chicken Bento Box, Kirin Happy Family, and the Honey Walnut Shrimp. There was a long wait between our order arrival so next time I would specifically ask that all food is brought out at one time.

I love Chinese food and Kirin City is hands down my favorite Chinese restaurant and tops them all in my opinion. So welcoming and exceptional service. My first visit I went with my husband and mother-in-law and I have been back three more times. Lunch special runs M-F 10:30 am to 3:00 pm. Take your family or get takeout, I promise you will not be disappointed!
Update 9/7/22**
Since my first review this is mine and my families go to place for Chinese food, it’s just that good and honestly no other Chinese Restaurant competes in my opinion. Kirin is just too good.

Today 07-07-2022 the 2 of us had the lunch special. I had the Sesame Chicken with Fried rice & Egg Flower Soup & my SIL had the Sweet & Sour Chicken with Fried Rice & Egg Flower Soup, along with Green Tea as her drink choice. It was her first time there, she did enjoy it ok, she was sad they don’t have Mar Far Chicken & the portions were the smallest (far less than a handful) I have seen there, so she wasn’t much impressed with that. I still feel it is the best for quality ingredients around imo. I first ordered the Sauteed Green Beans which the server informed me they were out of until the truck arrives tomorrow, so then I asked if they could make me some sauteed Snow Peas & she said, “NO”. Our server wasn’t the bubbly, kind, nice person that I am used to, our server was very abrupt, rude & short with my dining partner & I. Since, first impressions are always lasting impressions, I have no doubt my SIL will ever go back, let alone bring her Hubby there. I am sad & disappointed, because I really talked highly & excitedly about Kirin City to her & I had as well, convinced her to allow me to bring her there for her Birthday. Maybe it was an off day, we shall see once I go back. 🙁

This is now officially my new favorite place.
Today March 4th, 2022 the four of us had the lunch special. We all ended up ordering Sesame Chicken, which comes with fried Rice & Egg Drop Soup. We also ordered Cheese Rangoons. SO DARN GOOD ♡ We swear we could eat here every day! A Bento box or Sushi is what I’m going to order, as soon as I get my smell & taste back!
Today we had 3 lunch specials, Sweet & Sour Chicken with the sauce on the side, Chicken with Garlic Sauce & General Taos (thats how its spelled on the menu) Chicken. All meals come with a cup of Miso or Egg Flower Soup & your choice of Steamed or Fried Rice. This is my Son & his Wife’s 5th trip in 2 weeks & my 2nd trip in 2 weeks. The first time I went with my Son & his Wife, she had Hibachi Salmon, my Son had Honey Walnut Shrimp & I had the Vegetable Tempura Bento box, which literally could feed 3 people. Everything we have ever eaten at Kirin City, has been perfection. The folks are SUPER nice, they take your temperature when you enter & they are very attentive. This is the best place, Lane County has now, in my humble opinion. Especially, since 3 other places, who have been around for about 60 years, have recently closed. Yummy, yummy, yummy!

Went in with the family for dinner. Everybody ordered their food as usual. Wasn’t busy when we arrived, after we ordered it picked up a bit. Everybody’s food came out one at a time with a lot of time between. After my entire family ate their plates of food and the 5 other tables that ordered AFTER we did got all their food. The young gal asked if we were still waiting on a plate. I just looked and said of course we are. I sat and watched my family eat all their food and now we’re ready to go. She said it would just be a minute for my plate. About 10 minutes later it FINALLY came and I walked up and put it directly into a to go container and waited another 10 minutes for the check. Highly do not recommend. Very unorganized and chaotic. Don’t waste your time or money.

This place was comfortable and the atmosphere was good, but the service was not great at all and the food was quite bland (aside from the chow fun beef which was the 5 star item in flavor and tenderness) making the prices really not worth it. I don’t think we’ll be returning.
