Kinn Niyom was a really enjoyable dining experience with several standout dishes that I would absolutely return for.
The corn tod was easily the highlight of the night — perfectly crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and incredibly moreish. Honestly a 6/5 dish and a must-order. The chive dumplings were another favourite, offering a really nice twist on traditional dumplings with great texture and flavour balance.
The orange duck was also excellent. The duck skin was beautifully crispy, and the orange/plum sauce paired well without being overpowering. The vegetables were cooked perfectly, adding freshness and balance to the dish.
The wagyu beef was high quality and flavourful, although I’d recommend ordering it rare if you usually prefer medium rare, as medium was slightly more cooked than expected. The rice was quite heavy but still enjoyable overall, though the accompanying crackers were a bit bland.
The eggplant sticks were surprisingly good in terms of texture — moist, tender, and completely free of bitterness — but the sweet chili sauce was fairly average and didn’t elevate the dish as much as it could have.
The drinks were exceptional. The house-made lime iced tea was refreshing, sweet, and zesty — easily one of the best I’ve had. The Yakult Pipo mocktail was also fantastic — creamy, fun, and almost like a dessert in drink form. Highly recommend if you enjoy Yakult.
Overall, Kinn Niyom delivers creative, well-executed dishes with some truly standout items. While a few small elements could be refined, the quality, flavours, and drinks make it a place well worth visiting, and I’d happily come back to try more of the menu.
Very busy and loud, so service is slow at times.
Wish they had proper soup ladles for serving their soup!
They aren’t certified Halal but their chicken and beef is halal. (Always check before going though, just in case there’s a change in suppliers)
Serving sizes are on the larger size and priced accordingly, service is reasonably timed and polite. It does get quite loud during the busy periods and the staff aren’t around as often to take orders from diners, compelling the use of QR codes to order.
The only downside of my most recent visit was that the staff were unable to make accommodations for those with allergies. My friend ordered a steak and asked for the mushrooms to be removed from the side salad, he was informed they were unable to do this and could not provide another side.
The chicken, beef and duck are halal. But they do serve pork. They said the pork is prepared separately from the rest.
We were happy that we ordered six dishes because the portions were not big, but delicious and presentations of soft shell crabs were pretty good.
By the time we finished our dinner, there were fewer customers, so we were able to have good conversations without having to raise our voices. There were a couple of tables celebrating birthdays, and you could also see the robot was busy delivering foods, pretty cool!
We decided to order desserts, but quite disappointing. There was no mango with sticky rice the two desserts that we have ordered are pretty ordinary, wont recommend.
Overall it was good for a nice gathering with friends and enjoying nice Thai foods. Will come back again.
Another surprise was that my friend said if you book online and there will be a message to say that if you pay by cash on site, you will get 10% off Pretty good discount, try it!
When we visited on a Sunday night, the restaurant was busy and almost full, so we had to wait a short while for a table.
Of the dishes we ordered, we particularly enjoyed the Tom Yum Ramen and the Wagyu beef fried rice.
The restaurant is located inside the Castle Towers mall.
Kinn Niyom Thai at Castle Towers has a lovely atmosphere and top-notch service. However, the food leaned on the salty side and lacked the authentic Thai flavour we were expecting. A decent spot for the ambience, but the taste could use some improvement.
