Kinjo exceeded every expectation. The prices were some of the lowest we’ve experienced, so we arrived with modest expectations, but the experience was exceptional. The amount of food for the price was impressive, and every dish we tried was fresh, well prepared, and absolutely delicious.

The atmosphere was beautiful and inviting, and the staff were outstanding. They were attentive, hardworking, and genuinely kind throughout our visit. We especially appreciated the care they took with my partner’s allergy, thoughtfully checking in and ensuring everything was safe and clearly communicated.

The bubble tea was excellent and a perfect addition to the meal. The market was another major highlight. It was well stocked with fun and unique items and truly felt like stepping into a 7-Eleven in Japan, which made the whole experience even more special. Incredible value, wonderful service, and a place we will absolutely return to.

The Dynamite Roll and California Roll were amazing its was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The prawn tempura was top notch crispy, light, and not greasy at all. The fried chicken was also very good and nicely seasoned.

Service was friendly and efficient despite the restaurant being very busy. It’s definitely great value for money, which explains why there are always so many people.

Highly recommend if you’re looking for quality sushi at a reasonable price!

We first discovered Kinjo in December for my husband’s birthday, and it was such an impressive experience that we’ve been back at least 2–3 times a month ever since. It has quickly become our go-to spot in Edmonton; I have never been disappointed.

Despite how consistently busy the restaurant is, the service remains seamless. Today, we were served by David, who was exceptional—professional, incredibly friendly, and he had a wonderful aura that made us feel so comfortable. He knew exactly when to check in on us without being intrusive. I also have to mention the manager, Gladness. She is a ray of sunshine; she always greets us with a genuine smile and takes the time to say hello, which truly elevates the entire atmosphere.

Menu Highlights:

Vegetable Rolls & Dumplings: These are fresh, flavorful, and a must for vegetarians.

Ramen Options: I love that they offer three different sizes. It’s a brilliant way to try different items without overcommitting to one large bowl.

Fair Pricing: You can actually explore the menu and taste various dishes without it being overly expensive.

If you’re looking for a place with great energy, fair prices, and top-tier service, Kinjo is the place to be.

So the food was decent, but not very filling. They had a wide variety and service was amazing. I nearly have it 4 stars because it is like a 4.5, but I went 5. The whole place has a vibe of food court. Maybe okay for a casual date, but not a romantic one. Still, I enjoyed it and will probably be back.

Not to mention David, our server, being the best part of our night. Our entire family of 6 was so grateful to our server, he was great!! he was kind, funny, upbeat & overall a delight.

Our first visit here and credits to the decor on the inside as it really feels authentic. The location is spacious and open with decorations upto the ceilings. I loved the little Pandas in the fake Cherry Blossom trees above the seatign area. They have so much kitchen and service staff that you don’t have to wait long to place or receive the order. It was very smooth and we tried various dishes including the Ramen, Gyoza, Sushi, Steak and Tempura. It merits a visit one time for its unique way of dining and the insane visuals in the restaurant.

4 stars overall because the food is okay but the whole experience is 5 stars!

Okay, I can’t rate this place 5 stars because the food is just okay. However, when you factor in the lower price range, it makes sense.

The staff were nice. One of the managers offered steak bites for free because they mistakenly did an extra order. That was actually good!

See, if you want excellent food quality, I don’t recommend this place. If you’re just looking for a cheap eat or just something to fill your hunger, this is a good place!

Oh there’s also a significant waiting time. It took us more than 15 minutes to be accommodated. Again, not necessarily a con because it’s a really good place to eat for a cheap price.

Been here several times and I am always impressed by the quality and consistency of the food, especially since it is so affordable. The place is always packed so make sure you account for anywhere between 15 minutes to an hour when waiting for a table (yes it does get that packed). 10/10 would definitely recommend this place to anyone that wants affordable Japanese food that is of decent quality.

I took a client here for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. Beautifully decorated, open and airy, almost like you’re in a different country. The tables are smashed together but the restaurant can hold tons of people.

The food was very tasty and presentable and I like how they stagger bringing you your dishes. The smoked eel is a must try standout! Prices are decent and more competitive than lesser sushi places.

We used to live in Calgary, and we always made it to Kinjo. Their sushi and ramen were great, and the prices were definitely better than most places. It’s a bit like a fast-food sushi and ramen spot. We ordered spicy miso deluxe ramen, shrimp tempura, a mix of sushi and maki, California rolls, female dragon rolls, and chicken karage rice bowl. It’s definitely my go-to place.
