I ordered breakfast, yesterday. Awesome taste experience. The Salmon patties tasted just like my Grandma, Big Mama used to make. The cheese grits were phenomenal. The Scrambled eggs were grilled cooked to order….they were perfect. I had been there for dinner, many times, but this was my first breakfast meal. Staff were very friendly, kind, and helpful. I will definitely be going back, again soon. Thank you so much!!

We used King’s catering for my grandfather’s funeral. Everyone raved about the food asked where it was from. I’ve been ordering from this restaurant for decades and they NEVER disappoint. Sides are so good, you don’t even need meat. Thank you for making the event memorable with your food!

I had been thinking I wanted some soul food and wanted to come here for weeks. I use to come here for my ex husband ,myself , my daughter and her two sons. A few times we were disappointed because the food was bland and needed season but we still came back every now and again with our own seasoning in the car . But this time I came alone. I’m a Gig worker so I made me a quick $15 ready to get me a plate. The restaurant wasn’t full of great cooking smells but the line was long. I really didn’t see what I wanted so I choose the lunch neck bone plate with macaroni and cheese ,yams , collard greens and rice came under the one and half bones she gave me. The lady fixing plate seems hesitant in giving me another neck bone . One was small the other medium but both with no meat. I wanted to say something but it seems like she was being watched the way she hesitated. The macaroni was dry it didn’t look good but I still got it but it wasn’t good dry and bland. The yams was alright but not good enough for me to come back. The two neck bones she gave me had no meat and not seasoned at all and under the meat the rice tasted watery I spit it out it was so nasty .I took packets of salt and pepper trying to give it favor when I just gave up.The cornbread look so dry I was scared to try it . It was dry not fluffy at all. I paid $13. And change for some nasty food .One of the ladies fixing the food was nice but the cashier is always nonchalant and Everytime looks to see if you are tipping. I didn’t like him dragging my silverware though in plastic on the counter. He never says thank you. This is my last time going here. I started to ask for refund but I decided I just will not go back. I know how to cook I just was working an thinking I would get a plate. Then I remembered the food was never that good I just would go there because of my ex husband wanting the pig feet plate. To me the restaurant doesn’t look that clean so I always pray that are no surprises in my food. Im not going back anymore . It was just too nasty. I wouldn’t recommend anything but some seasoning. Clean smelling and food smell filling the room restaurant. Maybe your food is bland for those whom can’t get season . But how can you mess up macaroni and cheese it was too nasty. Then the rice was nasty too no flavor no butter no salt I almost threw up. Then the neck bones had no meat I just threw the whole plate way. But it’s people whom love their food I’m just not one of them.

This was recommended as one of the best soul food spots in the Redan area, and I was highly disappointed. I asked for the rib lunch with mac and yams as the sides. The mac was flavorless, the yams tasted like they came out of the can, and the ribs were drowning in BBQ sauce to hide all the fat and dry pieces I received. I am not sure what is happening with the art of soul food, but this is not it. I read both Google and Yelp reviews, and most reviews were based on the service being bad, but they surely lied about the food, cause this doesn’t taste like somebody’s grandma was cooking, more like somebody just learning how to cook. MY OPINION. Maybe it would be great for someone else. The pictures attached show all the gristle and fat, and dry pieces. I had to remove it from my plate just to see what I had in my plate.

I’ve been coming for years, I moved away so I don’t visit as much as when I stayed across the street. Normally, I have zero complaints but whoever made the pig feet yesterday (Friday), IDK if they was in a hurry or what, but it was VERY vinegary. It was still decent but not their best, like on other Fridays. I will return & try again only because this was the FIRST time in YEARS I was disappointed.

Terrible! Never again, my food was literally pink in the inside & the vegetables were terrible as well, no flavor. It’s too expensive to eat meat that isn’t cooked thoroughly and vegetables that are canned. Stay away, even the cornbread was bad Lol Damn near 17$ for food that isn’t edible.

I’ve been going here on and off for years. Seems like it used to be hit or miss on who cooked the food and prepared it. Ask for gravy for the turkey wings dinner so that they won’t be dry. The dressing is good and the Mac and cheese is okay. I think that the dressing is available on Wednesday and Friday. I always get Mac and cheese and yams when dressing is not available. The lunch is cheaper and the dinner cost more. Cornbread comes with the meal. I got the 2 turkey wings with 2 sides and a piece of cornbread dinner. The price is $18.00 and change close to $19.00. This is that once place that I go to that just gets better everytime I go. The food is always delicious and the portions are perfect for the pricing. Spending $10 on a lunch special that comes with meat, rice and two other sides is my kinda meal. The dinner menu is even better because you end up with two pieces of meat. The staff is always pleasant and the food is always hot. If you are looking for a soul food restaurant I promise you this one will not disappoint.

I’ve had more experiences with the food being more good than not good. But…….I feel like it could be a little hit or miss with some of the dishes (cabbage, chicken, and greens). The cabbage last night was really really bad and tasted burnt. We had to throw it away. The chicken was extremely dry and wasn’t that good. The turkey legs were excellent and for some reason never disappoints. Definitely try them out! A little heavy on the salt in some dishes.
Other than that the food is fast and definitely tasty. Good portions are served for the most part. I would return back.
