I came to Kingfish for lunch and I absolutely love this restaurant. The restaurant is in the lobby of the Vanderbilt luxury apartment rentals and hotels. The entire building is super luxurious, and the restaurant recently opened and has beautiful decor and has a beautiful outdoor patio area where you can sit and enjoy wine when the weather is nice. This is a seafood restaurant, and they have an amazing raw bar. I also love the blackened salmon salad and the shrimp risotto. The fish and chips sandwich is also great and the sauce is delicious. Portions are quite large so you can definitely share entrees. Drinks are reasonably priced ($10 for glass of Prosecco and $8-9 for beer). The staff is super friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this spot.

Wonderful meal at Kingfish. Spacious and airy inside with a modern design. The service was professional and impeccable. Of course, if the food wasn’t good that would all be for naught. I’m happy to say, the food was excellent! The menu is, quite naturally, seafood focused. The grilled octopus appetizer– a special– was tender and very tasty. My seared tuna entree with black rice, bok choy and a sesame sauce was right on point. My dining mate’s seared mahi mahi special was also delicious. Finished off a great meal with a warm mango tart with vanilla gelato. This restaurant is highly recommended!

My husband and I called the restaurant ahead of time to check seating availability and dress code. The hostess that entered was very pleasant staying there was no wait and no dress code.
As we entered we were not greeted, and instead stared at by a male hostess who started by saying so do you have reservations. When we stated we didn’t he stated they had no available seats. Please note the restaurant was practically empty. There may have been 4 parties seated in the entire restaurant. I proceeded to tell him that we just called and spoke to a pleasant woman who told us to come right over. After that, he surprisingly found a seat. When I asked him what changed so fast, his face turned red and quickly stated that he forgot he had a few extra tables. It was a terrible experience and I will never go back there again.
As for the food, my husband enjoyed the oysters. He ordered 4 of each of them. I ordered the chicken and crawfish meatballs which were good as well. The crab cakes were overcooked and the steak was not well cooked and did not have much taste.
I asked to speak to the manager but no one ever came. Hostesses should be trained on how to treat guests. Terrible establishment!

Extremely small serving size for the price on appetizers. Swordfish was bland, snapper was basic for $48, the mango bbq chicken tasted like cafeteria food at a hospital, rude front staff, our waiter was fine though. I would avoid at all costs. We were a party of 7 and not one of us enjoyed our meals. Do not waste your money here.

Food is great but the administration is a complete zero including the owner.
We paid for a bottle of champagne to be sent to our room the bartender never mentioned it wouldn’t be sent. The bottle was never sent to the room and to get a refund we called 3 times spoke to 3 different ppl and the Manager asked us to come get the refund anytime.
When I stopped by for a refund nobody had any idea including the Managers or owners of what refund it is and made me wait forever.Total Scam be careful before buying a bottle.

I’m not one to leave such a detailed response but, this place is too beautiful to be so terrible!! This restaurant is very nice in an upscale hotel.
The restaurant took almost 30 mins to get drinks to our table; to the point where our apps got there first. Our main course to almost an hour; I normally would mind if we were having drinks but, none came to refill. Desert was the only one to get to us quickly because I made the waiter aware that we were leaving if it took another 30mins. Nothing got taking off the bill till I complained that diner took 2 and a half hours!!! This place needs some serious help in service and in the kitchen.

Kingfish is a restaurant hidden inside the Vanderbilt located in Westbury. 1 year old, don’t know why I haven’t heard about this gem before. Find it! You will not be disappointed! The beet salad with goat cheese, strawberries & pistachios is unlike any beet salad you have tried before, the muscles were tender and flavorful. Every main dish was exceptional, the beef was tender with a savory sauce, my swordfish was the best I have ever had, served hot ,moist and delicious. The side dishes added to each meal, cooked to perfection. Nothing was overlooked. For desert my favorite was the key lime cheesecake light and creamy and satisfying. Flourless chocolate cake had me wondering how they accomplished that dish. And a wonderful well trained wait staff !! Bravo, take a bow. We will definitely be returning soon.

The food was good, but service could use some work. My wife ordered several different raw oysters, which she enjoyed. However the waitress never told her which were which. I ordered what was billed as steak medallion, so when she never asked how I wanted it cooked, I didn’t think much of it thinking it would be some slices of steak. But when an average sized filet was served, I was surprised. It was cooked medium, though I would’ve preferred med rare if asked. But not overdone and a fairly tasty cut and sauce. The funny part was the busboy filled my wife’s water, but then didn’t fill mine, which was lower. Wasn’t out because he went to the next table and filled both of theirs. A little while later the waitress came around with water. You guessed it, filled my wife’s water, ignored mine and went to next table. I hadn’t been nasty or anything, it just seemed like both had the exact same brain fart and didn’t fill mine. I did call her back and she filled mine laughing when I told her what happened. Since it was Valentine’s Day, it almost seemed like she was maybe a bus-person promoted for the rush. But no long wait for anything. They stopped by frequently so ask if we needed anything. So not horrible service, just needed with.

Upon walking in the dining room, the hostess didn’t even greet us. She just stared as if to say “What do you want?” after an awkward minute, I told her I had a reservation. That introduction was a sample of the service for the rest of the evening. The waiter never came back to ask if everything was good. My shrimp were undercooked and my friend’s steak was medium well at best when he ordered it well. Service really does make or break a meal.

While Kingfish is considered part of Vanderbilt living …it is totally open to the public for dining lunch and dinner.
Very friendly atmosphere and employees…2 bars..Oysters galore.
You won’t be disappointed..give it a shot. Pricing moderately..
