We tried the steak frites, surf & turf dumplings (filled with lobster & short ribs!) and cheesecake lollipops. The food was fantastic! I’m giving it 5-stars because of the overall atmosphere – very comfortable and inviting, the food was prepared to perfection and the service was great. Could not have asked for more. I will definitely return for more. By the way, we traveled from Brooklyn (Atlantic Terminal) on the LIRR. Didn’t realize the stop was directly across the street from the hotel/restaurant (another plus!).

Very disappointed with the food. Calamari was all batter, the oysters weren’t shucked, cheese and charcuterie board looked like it was made by a 5 year old and the drinks were good but were way over priced. Nice ambiance, but that’s about it.

This place is completely overrated. The food is subpar at best and completely overpriced. Two pieces of shrimp for $17, yes you read that correctly two pieces of shrimp and $17 ..what a joke!! On top of that the waiting staff is horrible they do not check on you often and always always running around. You feel so rushed to put an order in. The ambience is nice but that’s about it everything is way overpriced unless you’re a millionaire this place is not worth it the food isn’t even good.

Been here several times this week. Service is extremely slow, dishes are inconsistent, outrageous prices. We were charged for coffee refills !

Very uncoordinated service. No one knows who is serving what table. The cheese plate was subpar. Very dry crackers. The steak fries were extremely greasy, and no one gave us utensils.

Service, while polite, needs some polish. A lot of it. Basic waitstaff etiquette dictates that you don’t barge into your guests’ conversation without excusing yourself. Twice it happened in the space of a few minutes. I get it that some folks perhaps resent working on Christmas morning, but that’s the service/hospitality business. Had to ask for coffee refills more than once and the butter situation looked as if the cows were on strike in Garden City. Prior visits to this same room were solicitous, polite and perfect. Fix it, please.

Disappointing experience here after 2 outstanding dinners at The Red Salt Room. We were excited to try David Burke’s more casual eatery. The bar and kitchen are the same so our expectations were high. The cocktails were delicious as always, but the service and the kitchen were uneven. For the price, we expected much better. Some members of the service team were very good, but others were clueless. For example the duo who brought out our entrees attempted to place our food in front of us while large, dirty appetizer plates were still in front of us. My husband ordered his burger without cheese, and with a side of avocado. The kitchen got both wrong and the food runners neglected to notice or apologize. The bacon on a clothesline came out barely above room temp. Both the steak entree and burger were undercooked. The burger is too large and greasy for the English muffin they serve it on. The French fries were undercooked and not hot. Had our server checked on us soon after the food was delivered, we could have rectified issues more quickly. The King Bar felt like the unloved stepchild. Clearly the emphasis is on pleasing diners in the Red Salt Room.
