Fantastic experience at Kin Wah Chop Suey! The service was quick and attentive, they offered tea, and the food was very fresh and delicious. One of the best Chinese restaurant I’ve had in Oahu highly recommend!

Kin Wah Chop Suey offers a mostly fantastic experience, with this visit having mixed results. The minute chicken with cake noodle is definitely the star of the show – absolutely worth the visit! The crispy gau gee, especially when paired with shoyu & hot mustard sauce, is a delightful treat.

Downsides include the Mongolian beef, which was disappointingly chewy and mediocre. The chicken with broccoli was decent but lacks the punch of flavor found in the minute chicken dish. On the plus side, the fresh hot tea is a delightful touch that enhances the dining experience.

Parking can be a bit challenging, so plan accordingly. Despite some inconsistencies, the standout dishes make this spot worth checking out for Chinese-American cuisine fans.

Pro tip: Stick to the minute chicken and cake noodle, and don’t miss the crispy gau gee with those amazing dipping sauces!

I was very disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. This was the first Chinese restaurant I’ve visited where the food quality was notably poor. The chicken and broccoli with brown sauce tasted old and unappealing, and the Kung Pao chicken was not only poorly prepared but also bore little resemblance to a traditional Kung Pao dish. The honey garlic chicken was below average, and the fried rice was equally underwhelming. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this restaurant based on my experience.

FYI, the photo below is supposed to be kung pao chicken, never have I seen Kung Pao Chicken look like this..

Excellent old school Cantonese food. Clean and friendly workers. Portions are large. You will not leave here hungry. The place has been here like forever! My go to place for Chinese food on the windward side of Oahu. Recommend.

I was in Hawaii for 30 days and I must have ate here nearly twice a week. I really wish I discovered this place earlier. I am from the Bay area, so I live near Oakland and SF Chinatown. The food here at Kin Wah is far superior than anything I can get back at home. I know it sounds crazy, but Chinese food hasn’t been the same for the last 10 years plus here in the Bay area. The Chow Fun at Kin Wah reminds me of my childhood. Hands down the best Chinese food I’ve had in a while. Top picks: Beef Chow Fun with black bean sauce Dry style, Won ton with Chili Green Onion and Ginger sauce and Peking duck with buns. Prices are very reasonable (especially when you compare to Bay area prices). The Owners and workers are all very nice. I wanted to give a shout out to Lisa and Jay, thank you for creating a great dining experience for me. I will be back next year.

Wonderful food. The flavors were so authentic! We had the Veggie chop suey, veggie fried rice. Chicken schzewan chicken. Service was very good. There many old Chinese people enjoying their lunch when we went there who looked like regulars. The food was light, not greasy and yummy.

Super fast and friendly service! The prices are very reasonable and their minute chicken chow mein is my favorite thing on the menu! I usually pass on chow mein preferring to eat other selections, but I would definitely get this dish again! My family ate all of the duck and they also liked the salt and pepper pork chops. Their fried won ton is also so yummy–crispy and flavorful.

Parking can be tough, so you might want to just look for street parking. If you have a big car, it might be difficult, but with a small car, you should be able to legally squeeze behind another car that is trying to hog the street parking. If not, be patient…and you will be rewarded with a parking space!

This was the worst Chinese food ever. I found a hair in my food and the garlic shrimp was the worst I’ve ever eaten. It was mushy, overcooked, the sauce was disgusting and made it slimy. The honey chicken was horrible and it had pieces of uncooked flour in it. Everything was mushy and tasted fake. The kung pao chicken had more veggies than chicken and had a slimy, gravy-like sauce, which made everything slimy and soggy. I scooped some on my plate and found only one piece of chicken. The best thing we ordered were the roasted nuts, which came with the meal and the rice was not bad, but I wouldn’t eat it again. The service was ok but I asked for something similar to general chicken and she gave me something that was completely different. Overall I would NOT recommend eating here. It was a waste of 45 dollars, and my kids did not want to eat. We never complain about food or service but we don’t want anyone else to have the same experience. I thought it would be good from the other reviews but it was the opposite.
