10/10 recommend this place!! It was not packed & got a table right away on a Friday at 8pm. (Although reservations are available online!) Service was quick & the servers were so kind & helpful! Ordered our 2 beers on draft & combo A right on the iPad. Food was so yummy & there was so much of it. We left with some leftovers & full bellies. Will definitely be back!!

This was mine and my families first time trying Korean BBQ and it was a great experience. The server was so great, she was very enthusiastic when explaining how to order, cook and eat the items from their menu. We got Combo B, crazy rice, pork noodles, popcorn chicken, and fried dumplings, this was more than enough for 5 people and we have leftover to take home. The ambience was very nice, overall very satisfied and we will definitely be back.

The atmosphere here is modern and comfortable. The waitstaff are friendly and when as a team, rather than serving only a set of tables each. The food was delicious!

Kimchi Box Plus is a self-service Korean BBQ-style spot where you order from a tablet and the raw ingredients are brought out for you to cook at your table. It’s an interesting concept with plenty of potential, but unfortunately, the execution falls short especially for the price you’re paying.
Expect a long wait if you order any prepared food items they typically arrive toward the end of your meal, which can feel disjointed if you were hoping to eat everything together. Asking for rice? Brace yourself you might get a dirty look, and it’ll take about 10 minutes to arrive, which is baffling considering it’s a staple side.
The food itself is good and fresh, which helps make up for some of the chaos. But service is minimal and disorganized. Don’t expect much attention from staff unless it’s time to settle the bill.
Speaking of the bill, there’s a hidden 1.5% fee added it’s not clearly disclosed anywhere and only becomes visible if you ask for a printed receipt. To top it off, the tip screen is aggressively presented, starting at 18% and going up to 25% a bit much when you’re cooking your own food and doing most of the work yourself.
Kimchi Box Plus could be a standout if they ironed out the service quirks, improved transparency, and aligned the experience with the prices they charge. Right now, it’s a bit of a letdown.

My friends and I had an amazing time at Kimchi Box Plus! We started with the pajeon (Korean pancake) as an appetizer, then enjoyed delicious Korean BBQ for the main dish. We also had rice with kimchi jjigae and doenjang jjigae — everything was so flavorful and authentic. The Korean beer was the perfect match. The service was excellent, and as a Korean myself, I can honestly say the atmosphere felt just like being back at a real Korean pocha (pub). Truly authentic and highly recommended!

Korean food. Very healthy. Great experience compared to Black Rock. Bibimbap is a dish everyone will like. The grilling on table is great, unlike Black Rock, you won’t come out smelling like grilled steak. Here they have great smoke ventilation system. Meat is very good high quality. Korean fries, vegetable dumplings, combo platter is great. Great area with lots of other shops. Easy freeway access. Service can be more friendly.

This is my second visit to Kimchi Box. Grace, who was in charge of our table, was incredibly kind. The food was delicious, but it’s her service that makes me want to come back again. I don’t live in Michigan—I live in Korea—and I was surprised that the kimchi tasted exactly like the ones I eat back home. I highly recommend this place.

Went to Kimchi Box Plus for the first time tonight. We have been to other establishments like this before but going forward we will be only visit this establishment. Youngjin was amazing! She was attentive and so very helpful. It was like sitting down to dinner and being served by a dear friend. The food was amazing but Youngjin was able to raise the dining experience to a whole ‘nother level. She explained everything and came around many times to assist us. She somehow knew we’d need her before we even knew we needed help ourselves! This was a wonderfully fun dinning experience with amazing food and the best “waitress” ever! Thank you, thank you, thank you Youngjin for making our dining experience so very special. You are a gem of an employee and I hope they appreciate all that you do!

This is actually the second time I’ve found dead bugs from this location—once during a team lunch, and now with a dinner pickup. I called the restaurant right after discovering a dead fly in my meal to inform them, but as soon as I explained the situation, they hung up on me. I feel extremely disgusted and now have an upset stomach. This place seriously needs to be inspected.

I went in Monday. Plenty of seats were available. I ordered the royal bulgogi box along with a cup of hot tea. The dish came in a big bowl. The rice, noodle, and bulgogi were very good. The 4 side dishes are typical Korea’s traditional. It’s a very good value. Service is a bit slow. I’ll visit again if I am in the neighborhood in the future.
