This is one of my favorite oyster restaurants in GA. Very fresh and beautifully shucked oysters are must try dish there. Their rolls are amazing too. Loved the beet salad. Mussels were very delightfully cooked. Soft and creamy and so flavorful. My husband got Trout and he loved it so much. One of the best trout he had. Reservation is required. Service is top notch nothing but amazing experience here every time I come. Drinks are perfect too. It was my birthday. I guess I am getting old to read the menu with a little light. I had to use my phone light to read the menu. But I think it was just that area. Nothing to complain about.

Ooooohhhh sooo yummy!!!! Beef tartar, filet mignon with Au Poivre , bread service, crème brûlée, apple & pecan eclair. Six oysters from around the world… all sooo so good. I would love to return again, and I highly recommend.
Thank you Kimball house.

This place is absolutely beautiful. It’s just a tiny bit small in my opinion for the amount of tables and people that are there. I took my sister here for her birthday and we both had duck plates. I had the duck ravioli. Beautifully plated, but the sauce was a bit sour. My sister had the duck breast which tasted amazing. Our server was extremely nice and knowledgeable about the menu and answered all questions we had. Lastly, I’m one of those people that’s not a big fan of the extra taxes and fees added to their bill. I’ve never seen so many added from other restaurants. There was a state tax, county tax, special district tax, employee heath fee, and Decatur excise added to my bill.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience! The food was incredibly flavorful — every dish was thoughtfully prepared and packed with rich, delicious tastes. You can tell the kitchen puts real care into every plate. The staff was equally impressive: warm, attentive, and truly committed to making sure every detail was perfect. Their attention to detail made the entire dining experience feel special. Highly recommend!

Dined here Sunday, 12/21 to celebrate my birthday. Having eaten here several times over the years, Kimball House far and away remains my favorite restaurant in the Atlanta area.
It is a rare occurrence that a dish illicit an emotional reaction from me, but every aspect of our experience brought the heat. Under the delightful care of Alex, we spent nearly two hours dining like a king and queen. From the chef’s choice oyster platter (for which our preferences were carefully considered) to both the tuna and beef tartares, the duck breast and bouillabaisse, and finally capping off with the banana bread sundae and honey rum tart, each dish and drink was more spectacular than the last.
The staff at Kimball House clearly take pride in their craft and place so much care into dishes, wine and curated cocktails, and overall diner experience. It is always a real treat when I get the opportunity to come here.

Good place for drinks and snacks. They change the menu often so wait for mains you’d want to try. We had the Hawaiian roll, it came with fresh strawberry preserves which were excellent! Our waiter said the pork belly lettuce wraps was a sleeper item and so glad he recommended them. Really unique and it had pickled strawberries which was nice. Dessert was the dark chocolate tart, it was too bitter for my but my husband loved it. Good amount of searing at the bar if you just want to drinks and snacks

Fancy place for oyster lovers. They have so many different kinds to pick from, each with detailed explanations of their taste profiles. The drinks were good. I got the scallops and they were juicy and very sweet. Definitely on the pricier side. Overall a good dining experience, especially for the seafood lover.

I wouldn’t sit on the patio on a very cold night–likely tolerable in the 40s but when we went, a windy 30 degree night it was too cold and drafty–it’s not sealed. the staff were great about finding us a seat at the bar, which I highly recommend–lots of energy, get to watch the bartenders who are great. Park at the arlo apartment across the street–for 2 hours it was $11.
cocktails: the kindle house–a twist on a traditional martini. smooth and gin based of course–very good. my wife immediately wanted to order a second every green daisy (tequila based)
Food: apps–recc the hawaiian roll and the wood fired oysters. my wife usually doesn’t like oysters but liked these.
we had the duck breast and the grouper, both of which were excellent. i can see how some people think the duck breast is raw–but cook it any more and it becomes tough and tasteless. itw as just right.
my wife liked the apple and pecan eclair–i thought it was too salty, would’ve liked to try the banana bread.
I would definitely go back–the service, the people are what sets it apart.

Such a kind, helpful and knowledgeable team! The oysters are so fabulous! I couldn’t keep them in my mouth long enough. Don’t even get me started on how magnificent the caviar was. I. Would have ordered three!

We ordered a ton of food and while most of it taste really great, I didn’t feel like it was “to die for”. Also parking is not ideal and not validated. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very well done. Our server was very nice and welcoming. We went for our 5 year anniversary, I emailed them before asking if they do anything and never heard back which was a little disappointing.
Food
Hawaiian Rolls – 5 stars served with a whipped butter and jam that were great
French Onion Soup – 4 stars good and full of flavor, enough to split
Kale salad – 5 stars the salad had a nice Cesar dressing with fried shallots on top
Snapper – 3.5 stars, the fish was cooked to the perfect temp and most of the skin had a good crunch. The beans it’s served on didn’t wow me
Duck – 3.5 stars, the Duck was good but the side it was served with didn’t hit the mark for my partner.
Fingerling Potatoes – 5 stars, Crispy and delicious with cheese and aioli
Mock Tails – 6 stars (out of 5), these were amazing and you can tell they used fresh ginger!
