We ordered the Bun Bo Hue, Hu Tieu Mi, Tom, Cua, Thit (dry noodles) with soup on the side, and Tai, Chin Pho (rare steak & well done brisket) pho.
All the dishes was delicious and generous portion. Some highlights were the pho soup was excellent and the BBH had a pork knuckle which my wife loves for the collagen.
Will definitely come back here to try other dishes.
The owner was delightful and had great stories of her family and culture. While the ambiance and service was great the food was absolutely everything one would expect from authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Highly recommend.
Fantastic spot.
Decor is a little dated, but service was good
Food is pretty good for the most part, tasty spicy beef noodle and broth.
The deep fried wontons are a little over cooked, and lack of flavour, don’t recommend them
The restaurant is very typical for a Vietnamese restaurant. It is simple and functional. There is wear and tear showing and the busy establishment makes major renewals a challenge. Colours are the typical mint green found everywhere in Vietnam. Tables are diner style with simple comfortable seats. Condiments are located at each table, along with spoons. Everything is clean and serves its’ purpose.
Service is very efficient and friendly. Like many Vietnamese restaurants, this is primarily a family operation. You will be quickly greeted and pointed towards a table. Menus are provided and orders taken. In just a few minutes, food is on the table. If you’re hungry and don’t want to wait, this place is a good choice.
The food is excellent. Flavors are nicely balanced and everything is fresh. I had their pork chop with meat pie and pork skin dish. It is a favorite of mine, although this version does not come with broken rice or a fried egg (many do not these days). We have also sampled the spring rolls and a rice roll platter with ground shrimp on sugarcane. Everything was very tasty.
Kim Hoang is well worth a visit. Go hungry as the portions are ample.
Was super filling, and I usualy don’t like beansprouts, but theirs tasted great with the broth.
The baguette is very fresh but I’m not sure if I completely enjoyed the chicken here. I’m starting to learn that some places will make their chicken sweeter than others and I lean more towards the non-sweeter ones.
Everything else was good! The coffee was amazing! I’d probably go with a different type of banh mi here just to see the difference.
They were packed inside and had many take out orders so I’m guessing their other dishes must be good!
