A great diner atmosphere with a cake case right up front. Old metal and vinyl styled chairs invoking the old eateries, but the food is the real classic.

Absolutely perfect. A wonderful little gem and utter surprise. We stopped here hoping to find a place without a line to get in and we were in for a pleasant and welcome surprise. The food was excellent, I had the pot roast and the wife had fish, both were excellent. The banana split pie’ was great and unique. To top it off, the service was very friendly, helpful, cheerful and helped create a simply wonderful experience.
And get this…. We were so impressed that we left a sizable tip. The young lady that checked us out us asked us “Did you mean to leave that big a tip?” in case it was a mistake and she didn’t want to charge us too much! Heck yes, ma’am, take that tip, your honesty and the atmosphere of Kilgore’s Family Restaurant definitely deserve it!

Highly recommend this place! We took my mom here for her birthday dinner tonight and we were very impressed. The staff and waitress were very attentive and the overall feel of the restaurant was nice! The food was absolutely amazing! It was like having a special home cooked meal, but better! Everything was fresh and had lots of flavor – no salt needed! I can’t forget the homemade cakes and pies, SO good! Our props to the cook! The prices are all very reasonable as well. We will definitely be back!

We stopped here on a drive back home to Illinois. I wasn’t expecting much from a random restaurant, but everything was delicious. The mashed potatoes were my favorite. The chicken strips were clearly homemade and the best chicken strips I’ve ever had. The breading was the perfect texture and flavor. Mac and cheese side was so good! The menu is small but that’s a good thing! It’s clear this restaurant puts items they’ve perfected on their menu. Server was attentive and quick. Prices are more than fair! Excellent experience!

Very friendly staff, our server was great, straight forward when asked questions about certain dishes. It did have a different menu than what is online and a small one at that.
Food was very reasonably priced. I had the stuffed bell peppers which reminded me of the way they are made home. Our table of 5 including a teen and a 9 yr old all enjoyed what they ordered. It was our first time here and we will be returning. Oh and I loved the cornbread.

I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the staff. And please dont let that down play the meal…everything I had was delicious.(And everything everyone else had looked tasty too!!) We were a party of 35 adults and children showing up unannounced. And the service was excellent!! The 2 young ladies waiting on all the tables were on it! And the kitchen staff, which I think was just one maybe 2 people in the back, kept the food coming out fast and fresh!! Thank you very much for a pleasant lunch experience! Much appreciated on this day of grief for our family.

The restaurant was clean and we had prompt and friendly service. The tomatoes on the salad were so good, they tasted home grown and the bacon was real instead of bacon bits. The kids burger is huge and tasty! Prices are competitive. Overall a great experience!
