Nice place for a different style of food option. Service and drinks were nice. Food is fresh but on the high end. That’s the only reason I gave it 4 stars. Many more restaurant options for their price. The atmosphere was nice also. We had the ceviche and beef dish. The appetizer was small but delicious, my main course was a good size.

Amazing service, fantastic food. Highly recommend starting the meal with a Pisco Sour (even the virgin ones are great) and a skewer of grilled pork in addition to anything thing else you think might be enjoyed by your table. All the main dishes are soo good, so go with what sounds good yo you or one of the specials. And consider at minimum sharing the sweet potato flan (which comes with a scoop of ice cream too. You cannot help but enjoy the meal, and service provided by the owners is a simply top notch. A full meal like above with cost a little more than maybe some other restaurant but the food is of a significantly higher standard and deliousness (is that a word?) compared yo most restaurants in the county. A treat just waiting for you discover and enjoy.

I am Peruvian and I am very selective when it comes to Peruvian cuisine. THIS PLACE IS LEGIT. I never come to high expectations coming to a Peruvian restaurant outside of Peru, this is place changed my mind ! I tried the ceviche and Lomo Saltado and tasted just like in Lima. Soo good. I don’t live in SLO, I am jealouse of people that can just go and have a great dinner whenever they want. We are definitely coming back when we visit again.

I would give Kiko’s 10 Stars if I could. What a wonderful experience. Food was out of this world – fresh, well prepared, flavorful, and most fun – different. I had a seafood platter that included Octopus- it was FANTASTIC; great flavor, great texture, and expertly prepared. I would go back every week if I lived in SLO! Also, we met the owner (Kiko) and his wife – a great team with such a passion for what they are doing. JUST SUPERB!

If you like Peruvian food you need to go visit Kiko!! I felt like we were back in Peru! We had the Causa and scallops appetizer to start. Don’t forget your Pisco Sour (and for a secret menu item be sure to order the Pisco Sour with Chicha Morada – a true Peruvian treat!). Our waitress was very attentive and the food came out just as expected and on time. For dinner we chose Pescado and Pasta a la Huancana. We almost ordered the Lomo Saltado or Ossobuco Seco. We ate tons of both while in Peru and both were delicious! So we’re going to come back to try those later. For dessert we ordered the sweet potato flan. It was supposed to come with vanilla ice cream, but when they learned we had visited Peru they gave us a scoop of Lucuma ice cream that they had just gotten that day! So delicious!! I’m so happy we found this place! We miss Peru. It transports us back there. The dishes feel pretty authentic to the Peruvian dishes we’d eaten in Peru. If you are looking for a change please try this place. It was so good!
I can’t wait for warmer weather when we feel comfortable sitting outside.

Business trip to SLO led me to KiKo Peruvian—and I’m glad it did. Based on rave reviews, I had high expectations, and overall, it was a solid experience.
The SLO ceviche was fresh and flavorful—classic Peruvian style, though not much different than what you’d find elsewhere. The sashimi was a great Nikkei-inspired twist and definitely worth trying.
Their version of paella leaned more toward a chifa-style rice dish—packed with flavor, but a bit light on the seafood. Still enjoyable!
But the real standout? The sweet potato flan. Perfectly balanced and totally unique—I’d come back just for that.
Service was friendly, food quality was high, but portions felt a bit small for the price. A few tweaks, and this spot could easily be a five-star gem.

Got the fish and chips, pisco sour and SLO ceviche. The food itself was meh. The service was great. The pisco is very delicious.
The ceviche was ok but lacked identity. The big downer was the fish and chips. This was quite disheartening. For $20, one would hope for a nicely fried exterior and seasoned bites but instead it was more like if it was fried then rested in a closed container. We had intentions of ordering other items but we could not convince ourselves.
Looking at the reviews, it seems like their skewers and beef dishes are a hit. Might give this place one more chance.

This is the best restaurant in SLO. Pictured is the Passion Fruit and Mango Pisco, Pork skewers, Classic Ceviche, Mixto Ceviche, and dessert! Incredible value and filling, but not heavy. Service was personable and engaging. The entire experience felt like a lot of thought had gone into every detail. Will absolutely be back!

This is, in my opinion, one of the best meals I have ever had in my life. SLO ceviche, Parmesan scallops, pork skewers, mango pisco, and dessert were phenomenal. If any restaurant in San Luis Obispo deserves a Michelin star, it’s this one. Please go before the secret gets out, and reservations are impossible. The owner came out and spoke to us multiple times and was incredibly kind and knowledgeable about the menu, and the care put into the food was abundantly apparent. Beautiful tucked-away spot downtown that is a hidden gem. Highly highly highly recommend to anyone looking for an incredible dining experience.
