PROs – hidden gem , homely food , service
CONs- location , limited menu items
I rarely give a 5 star . We were near Marlboro area and were craving for some vegetarian food . Saw Google and decided to visit this restaurant . At first , we kinda were joking around looking at the restaurant as there were no customers . Location was a bit wierd. .. we went in and asked if there was food and the Indian lady came and was kind of shocked to see 12 of us coming in . She said she will start cooking then and will take time .
We almost wanted to leave the place because we weren’t confident of how fast they will prepare.. to all our surprise , she was able to cook food quickly and the food was deliciousssssssssss.. its almost like our mom cooking at home . We had unlimited thali.she brought us dolls , samosa , kichadi , rotis , undhiyiu, potato bhaji, gulab jamun, chaas etc. all my friends were happy and had a fantastic meal . She said to call her next time before coming , so she can prepare all food 🙂 even though it was a slow start , we were so happy with the food .
It’s truly a hidden gem . Both owners were sweet and the service was exceptional.

Khichdi Junction is a pure vegetarian restaurant. I order samosa and kachori in morning breakfast the taste is good. This shop is in parlin / Sayreville . They have a website you can check the items and timings. They informed me that they are going to open vegetarian buffet soon. They have many kind of Khichdi and Gujarati dishes , paranta , puri sabji etc which you can ordered or have in be breakfast , dinner and in lunch. I like to order again . #indiancuisine #samosa #morningbreakfast

I ordered food from Khichdi Junction for 40 people for my Ganesh Visarjan and it was the worst catering experience. The val shak and tindora shak had no taste and looked like they were made the day before, the dal was nothing but watery liquid with no flavor, the rice was bad, and even the puris were not enough for 40 people. The food smelled awful when served and many of my guests and family members got sick with food poisoning afterward. Serving such spoiled and tasteless food for a religious occasion is unacceptable and irresponsible — I will never order again and strongly warn others not to trust this place.

A very homely feel to the food with minimal oil. Loved the khichdi and Gujarati thali we had ordered as not many Indian restaurants serve as good authentic Gujarati food.

Consistently delicioso!!! Worth the drive from SoJo. The best find from Yelp many years ago. Off the beaten path but right off route 9 north on Ernston Road and south off 35. Excellent service too!

The food was really good. Reminded me of my mom’s cooking. We ordered Gujarati and kathiyawadi takeout thali with undhiyu and ringan no oro and paneer sabji. Everything was excellent including the khichdi and kadhi.

I love this spot. I drive from a few towns away just to eat at Rajpoot. It’s been pretty quiet most of the nights I’ve been there, which I actually tend to like. The food is pretty great, but isn’t always piping hot in their set up. I love Indian food, can’t cook it, and like to enjoy it in wide variety, so this place is the perfect spot for me. The only Indian place I know of in the surrounding area to offer both buffet lunch and dinner, and at an extremely fair price! Everything here is perfect for the price paid and I’ll keep coming back. If I want extremely tasty and exquisite high quality dishes that cost more than the buffet costs here, I’ll head to another restaurant in a different area. If I had one complaint, it would be to put more variety in the buffet. There’s some decent variety there between nights, but I feel like its often unchanging, then again I haven’t payed much attention to the days that I’ve visited and I understand each night carries its own theme.

Omg such wonderful food! My very hard to please boyfriend was very very pleased with this food. Buffet is excellent. Charming hosts remembered us from last time. The place is cozy & not fancy. But the food is Nirvana. Just go & bring your friends and your appetite. You won’t be disappointed. Best Indian food in NJ.

Went here tonight for the first time. I loved everything I had. The selection was small but that doesn’t matter to me since everything was very delicious. Reasonable price about $11 dollars for good quality homemade indian food, all you can eat. Waiter was excellent and very friendly. Atmosphere was relaxed and quiet.
