I am writing to file a complaint about my experience at KFC Restaurant #G135539 (1470 S Elmhurst Rd) on February 23 at 6:40 PM. The cashier who took my order was Maria.
I ordered a classic combo sandwich, and my brother ordered a spicy combo. The sandwiches were not labeled properly. Both wrappers said “spicy” and “special,” and there was no clear marking to distinguish which sandwich was which. Because of this confusion, my brother ate the regular sandwich thinking it was his, and I was left with the spicy one.
When I tried to eat my sandwich, I realized it was extremely spicy and I cannot eat spicy food. It made me physically uncomfortable. I went back to the counter to explain the situation. Maria took the wrapper, folded the corner, and said, “This is spicy and this is not spicy,” in a sarcastic tone, then walked away. No one had informed us that folding the corner of the wrapper indicates a spicy sandwich. There was no visible or clear labeling.
When I approached again to ask how long the complaint process would take and to explain that I had no way of knowing what the folded corner meant, Maria looked at me dismissively and called another employee to handle me instead of addressing the issue herself. The other employee apologized, but no solution was offered. I waited over 30 minutes and never received any message or code.
I am very disappointed with the lack of clear labeling and the unprofessional customer service. I would like a refund or replacement for this order.

Absolute garbage. I now know why this particular location never seems to have any customers. I was feeling a bit adventurous and was in the mood to try KFC’s two new promotional items….the Chizza and the smashed potato bowl. The Chizza is supposed to be a mashup of chicken and pepperoni pizza. The advertising campaign boasts chicken with a cheese pull that rivals any pizza joint. As you can see in my photos that is not the experience I received. This particular restaurant didn’t even try. I received some past its prime chicken breasts that literally looked like it had been in a food warmer for several hours. The chicken was covered in what I’m guessing is Ragu jar sauce, tasteless pepperoni slices and shredded mozzarella. This could’ve been so much better if only they tried to melt the cheese and heat the pepperoni, but I digress, it wasn’t meant to be. The smashed potato bowl wasnt much better. This comes with chicken nuggets, french fries, mashed potatoes, cheddar cheese sauce, bacon bits and a shredded cheese blend. This was also hyped as having an incredible cheese pull. I got none of that from this experience. As a matter of fact when I tried pointing this out to the store manager Maria, she didn’t seem to care. I was told that they don’t melt cheese. I then proceeded to show her both ad campaigns for both items and even pointed to the posters they had in the store showing that these two items were supposed to have melted cheese. Her reply to me was “take it or leave it, but i’m not melting any cheese.” With customer service being that horrible, I now know why this store always looks empty. For these 2 menu items and a medium Pepsi I was charged $19.18 , the food wasnt even edible. I took 2 or 3 bites of the potato bowl and discovered cold hard chicken nuggets. I took a couple bites of the Chizza and just couldn’t continue. Like I said earlier the chicken looked like it was past its prime and the taste confirmed it. To anyone reading this review, save yourself some aggravation. Do not frequent the KFC at 1470 S Elmhurst Rd in Mount Prospect IL. This store manager is more concerned with talking about her tattoos than she is with putting out quality products and services. KFC Corporate, you need to do better.

I walked in and the woman behind the counter was on her phone, I stood at the counter for some time and she finally looked up and seemed annoyed that she had to help me. I ordered, she never said thank you and barely spoke to me and when she did it was with a rude tone. I figured maybe she is having a bad day no big deal however the next two customers that came in after me were her own ethnicity, Hispanic, she was smiling and polite. The food was ok however the other thing that is alarming the ceiling behind the counter seems to have a bad leak, it looks bad, I will not be returning.

This place should be shut down. It’s not a real food store — the employees don’t do their jobs. They just hang around and relax when there are no customers in the dining area. Every time, delivery drivers are forced to wait 20 minutes or more for orders. Absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable. We’re tired of waiting like this every single time. Never coming back!

I don’t really want to give a bad review but I give credit where credit is do, some time ago maybe a month or a month and a half ago I had downloaded the KFC app and tried to get the free KFC bucket offer on checkout with a purchase of 15$ or more as it claimed was redeemable, once I got to check out it said I had my 15$ purchase and no bucket, I called KFC from the app and they said they can’t do much and to try call the manager at this location, I called the place and spoke to the manager but he claims he can’t do much about the app, he sounded clueless so I decided to keep calling the app reps and one hanged up on my who avoided to give me their name, by 4th or 5th knew what they were doing and got me a refund in a few days.
Ya I know it was not even 20$ but I wasn’t going to leave food to waste waiting for me.

I’d why, but THIS LOCATION has the BEST version of the New chicken sandwich. I’ve eaten it at a few different locations, but its definitely different, and better here. On my most recent visit, they made 2 of them fresh for me, they were outstanding! Gotta get the chicken sandwich from THIS LOCATION!! Great Chicken sandwich.
