The atmosphere was consistent with a truly authentic experience: a lot of lively yelling and loud noise! The food came out fast and all at once, and the majority of the patrons were local Chinese families, not tourists—a good sign!
But what truly set it apart was the food. We ordered a large variety of dishes, from the famous roast duck to the salt and pepper tofu, and honestly, we loved every single one. The beef brisket with bean curb was so good, we ordered it twice. Next time, we will order the lobster and try one of the sizzling platter dishes. (It smelled so good.) Ngl…We are already planning to schedule our next celebrations here.
I would highly recommend Kevin’s Kitchen to all my friends. You can find it easily next to Times Supermarket, Grace’s Inn, and Epi-ya Bakery. There is plenty of parking—you can’t miss it!
CHALLENGEs. Attempted to eat here 3 times; same drill. Two of us, no reservation. 1st: 4 empty tables; 2nd: 3 empty tables (3 couples turned away); 3rd: 6 empty tables. After entering, waiter asks ‘how many?’, then discusses loudly, in Chinese, with “manager/boss” in rear of restaurant. Answer is “full, nothing available.” It appears that tables are saved to accommodate more people for larger profit. This is not the way to run a business. There are many other restaurants in Honolulu from which to choose.
My family and I will be returning soon to try their other items!
Local group dining in more.
Food is averaged good. Price is okay
Don’t expect much service.
Plenty parking space in the Times Market.
Very convenient location!!
Service was good, the servers kept checking on us and refilling our tea pot. And free parking is plentiful.
Fish maw soup
Honey roasted pork (Char Siu)
Eggplant w/ pork
Scallops w/ Broccoli
Everything was fresh, tasty and at the perfect doneness.
It’s a bit of a hole in the wall Chinese place. So the decor and service was exactly what is to be expected. All in all, I will definitely come back with friends.
