Ketch 55 was established in 2004 and quickly became a Hatteras Island favorite for locals and visitors. We continue the tradition of sourcing out the freshest ingredients from land amd sea. Bring your friends and family for island casual dining, featuring multiple micro brews on tap and domestic beer, acompanied by a wine list as well as a full Abc permit. Our menu is sure to appeal to all palates ranging from island traditional seafood, to speciality plates and comfort food. For lunch we offer authentic Mexican food as well as delicious sandwiches and seafood baskets and a koids menu all day.

We had an amazing dining experience at Katch 55 Seafood Grill! I ordered the Blackened Tuna, and it was simply perfect—cooked to perfection with incredible seasoning. Our waiter was outstanding, going above and beyond to ensure all our requests were met.
To top it off, we were celebrating my husband’s birthday, and the staff surprised us with a beautiful celebration, making the day truly special. I can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough for anyone looking for a fantastic meal and exceptional service. We will definitely be returning!

We showed up at the restaurant at 8:45 pm and were seated. We started to feel bad about them closing in 15 minutes. We told the waitress that we could just go somewhere else since it was so close to closing time. The waitress insisted that it was totally fine and she did not want us to leave. Isabella recommended the shrimp and grits and it was every good. Also the Bang Bang Shrimp was amazing. The card game that was at the tables was very fun. Thank you Isabella for being the sweetest waitress in the world. I recommend this restaurant for the food and the hospitality. Thank you! My only complaint is the hostess lady did not seem like she wanted to seat us when we asked if it was okay that it was close to closing time. Other than that it was a tremendous experience.

Service was fantastic. The food was very good. One of the shrimp and grits was a little too salty and the chicken crust a bit over cook, however, both dishes were tasty. The seafood Alfredo was good, however, the sauce was thin so didn’t stick well to the pasta.

We ordered shrimp and grits, Asian tuna, oysters (steamed), tuna wonton tostada, fried goat cheese, and Caesar salad. The flavor mixture of the tuna tostada, Asian tuna, & shrimp & grits were delicious and worked together so well. The oysters and fried goat cheese were also cooked perfectly. This is one of the best restaurants in Avon that we’ve been to and we’ve been coming here for years. The severs and hostesses were so accommodating and friendly. We highly recommend!

The shrimp and grits dish was SPECTACULAR. Our server, Isabella, was so nice, very accommodating, kind, and a pleasure to speak with. She answered all of our nosy personal questions about her background with a smile. I think we’re going back there this evening before heading home tomorrow.

Nothing better than having a fantastic meal which is a result of great service from the kitchen to the table! Avery was a great waitress! I had the Scottish Salmon and my husband the swordfish (catch of the day), then we shared the in-house made apple dumpling which was sooooo good! I honestly would recommend anything as I am sure everything on the menu is fantastic! Thanks for the delicious meal guys, your doing it right!

My wife and I dined here and could not have been more pleased with the experience. The waitress was kind and attentive, the food was prepared very well and served promptly. My burger was cooked exactly as I requested and well assembled. My wife’s shrimp dish was also very well done.

Staff was awesome. Goat cheese with fig preserves was awesome. We enjoyed all our food and will definitely come back again. Only down side is the parking is a bit crazy. We felt like we parked in someone yard because the parking lot was a bit small. Other than that, no complaints at all! Just a nice simple evening out.

Saw this on our way to the hotel near the beach and came in for dinner. Definitely not the initial vibe we expected from the pictures online, very casual in counterpoint to the very high prices for main dishes. We ended up eating two appetizers and a salad with a bottle of wine and just shared those. The food itself was good at least. The fried goat cheese spinach salad was a very nice way to round out our meal of buffalo wings and “banging shrimp.” I am sure the food is locally sourced and made well but $29 as a base price for main dishes is a bit steep for food that doesn’t “wow” me.
