Seems like a cool place. A little slow when we were there on a Sunday afternoon. Wishing we’d been able to stick around for another night to see Kermit play. Kitchen was unexpected treat for kind of a historic but divey spot.

get there early for the Tuesday 6 PM show it’s the one that will least likely have a line if you get there 15 minutes early. $20 gets you in, cash or card. Its mostly stand only with perhaps a dozen chairs in the small tight quarters.
Kermit is a very active participant in his bar, so do not be surprised if he’s chatting it up with you at the bar or suddenly, you feel a trumpet in your ear and he’s going into town, playing it with so much passion.
The guys all have such a great banter with each other. It is amazing, amusing and delightful to watch. SO much talent on this stage.
The drinks are very moderately priced, they do not give you cups of waters so be prepared to pay for bottled water.
There’s food on the menu and as Irvin Mayfield says Kermit declares himself a chef 1st and a musician 2nd, so if you’re lucky enough ask for what they’re serving on the menu it could be his proclaimed raccoon gumbo.

We didn’t eat, only had a drink, the place isn’t fancy but it’s full of personality and in Louisiana’s true fashion everyone is welcomed and made to feel at home!!! We were visiting from Texas and it was across from the Air BnB, it’s a historic, neighborhood bar full of old school charm, I loved it!!!

It’s just not safe. We were hesitant as a man was shot and killed inside there just a few months ago in September. Also a day after we were there a couple of years ago a woman was shot right outside. During my visit this week, a group of women directed some really negative behavior toward me which was disappointing given how much I’ve enjoyed this place in the past. We got out of there as soon as the live music ended due to safety concerns and won’t be going back.
