Overall a very comfortable and enjoyable time with delicious food 🙂
Now to the food wow I don’t even like cauliflower but my girlfriend ordered the cauliflower and it was one of the tastiest dishes I’ve ever eaten in a restaurant, the duck the chicken everything we where served tasted delicious
As a chef myself I understand how hard a busy service on a Saturday night in December can be but the food all came out in great timing.
So I’d just like to say thank you for making it a birthday to remember
Food – fantastic selection of tapas and curries! My favourites were the hasselback potatoes, beef and bone marrow curry, lamb chop (amazing but be aware it is one per portion),
Service – excellent, Leah was attentive, friendly and made our experience feel extra special, defintely ‘above and beyond’ what I would normally expect.
Great atmosphere, just slightly dark but good decor
The food we all agreed was amazing and decor/ambience was lovely. However, we were disappointed about the service – items coming out wrong or that we did not order entirely; drinks coming out 10-15 minutes at a time (despite having a 90 min limit for bottomless) and food becoming before the drinks.
In addition, at one point we were told 1 out of the only 2 cocktail options were no longer available due to there being no more gin and were not offered an alternative from them until later provoked by us (the other cocktail being an Old Fashioned which is only suitable for those who enjoy whiskey and the others being prosecco or beer).
During the actual meal we did get multiple check-backs which was a positive but the food was not the issue and the curry was one of the best I’ve ever had. They also did bring a birthday brownie which a candle which was very appreciated.
We were a table of 6 hospitality workers including FOH ourselves so we would not generally complain unless the service was that poor. We were a party of 7, therefore, we understood if it may have been to difficult to accommodate but we felt the service could have been much smoother as this is a nearly 5* venue.
At the end there was a service charge on the bill (which is completely fine as like I said, we work in hospitality and believe in tipping your waiters as they work super hard!). BUT only wanted to give 5% – the waitress said this was not possible to amend and that it was all or nothing.
Overall, the servers and bartenders were polite and nice so this seemed more like a system or management issue rather than an individual staff problem. It would have been nice if there was an opportunity for our experience to be acknowledged and improved by management before the end of the evening.
A member of our party raised these issues at the end and we received a sincere apology, although it didn’t appear to come from a manager. We were told the bottomless drinks option is new, but given guests will want to make the most of it, having only two cocktail options felt limited and could be improved with more universally appealing choices.
