Definitely an old place, very run down but I think that’s what makes the food and the price so good. Don’t expect much from the atmosphere, just got for the delicious food and great price.

What a cutie place! Incredibly friendly service, delicious homemade food, quaint, clean little place! AND after eating here, my stomach was not upset at all like it is after eating Mexican food in most places in the Valley! Plus they have cinnamon rolls the size of your head for only $5.99! We’ll be back!

I definitely recommend the biscuit with sausage and gravy! I got two other breakfast plates but they were ok. The chilaquiles don’t come with egg so when I asked for it they put it on the side.

I had not been here for over 20 years. Came by to have the chicken fried steak and rolls. It was just as delicious as it was back then. My husband had the chicken fried chicken and it was just as tasty. We will be back when in the area.

Last visited Keno Cafe 50+ years ago as a member of the 1970-71 PSJA High school football team. Dropped in early 2026 for breakfast. Glad I did. Generous and delicious portions.
I will be visiting more often n try the enchiladas. Thank u Keno Cafe!

Prices for quantities are a blast from the past. Huge portions at 1990’s prices. Great food all homemade. Don’t skip this spot because it’s absolutely delicious! Cinnamon roll can feed an entire family.

Food was ok. Beans were bland but was better when added the salsa they give you. Got the omelette but eggs were over cooked. They should never have brown on them. The Shipwreck was better.( eggs, bell peppers, bacon, onion and cheese all scrambled together). The best thing about the place was the cinnamon roll! It’s huge and tastes great. Daughter loved it.

The Tampiqueña plate, which includes fajitas, a cheese enchilada, a taco, and two tortillas, was disappointing.
The taco meat lacks flavor and doesn’t seem like real meat—it has the texture and taste of soy. The fajitas were extremely dry, tough, and full of tendons. Honestly, fast food chains do a better job.
The atmosphere doesn’t help either. The doors, windows, and blinds are so dirty you could write your name in the grime, just like on a dusty car.
This place seems to have given up on being a restaurant a long time ago. It caters to “Winter Texans”—visitors unfamiliar with authentic Mexican food. Save your time and money—skip this place.
