The food was excellent, the atmosphere was inviting without feeling overly formal, and we appreciated the complimentary birthday cake — a nice touch.
Unfortunately, the overall experience was overshadowed by poor service. From the moment we walked in, we felt judged. One member of our party was laughed at for ordering a well-done steak, and when another guest became ill, staff followed them to the restroom in a way that felt invasive and disrespectful. To top it off, our check was abruptly dropped at the table without so much as a “thank you”.
What makes it worse? We still tipped 20%, out of habit and respect — which, in hindsight, was far more than the service deserved.
Despite the good food, the lack of courtesy and professionalism made for an uncomfortable evening. We will not be returning for dine-in service.

First time here. We came for our anniversary. I have an allergy to capsicum, peppers, and the server went over the whole menu to help with my options. I decided on the Delmonico Ribeye and my wife had the Filet Mignon Medallions. The food was amazing and the service was just as good. It may have been our first time, but we will be repeat customers.

I recently meet Peggy from my own Business. During my visit with her, I learned she owned the steak house which I had never been to in Valpo. My husband and I came in for dinner for our Anniversary. The food was so tender that I could use my fork to cut my steak. Our waitress Charity was new and was extremely friendly and pleasant.
My husband had the prime rib and it was spot on!

My wofe and I decided to go to Kelseys for our anniversary. What a great decision that was. We were seated right away even tjough it looked to be very busy. The waitress Charity came over immediately and gave us our silverware and menus and got drink orders. I ordered a bullet old fashion and my wife got the peach cream martining. Didnt take long before we got our drinks. The owner Peggy came over and introduced herself. She then let us know that they had the valpo univeristy basketball team coming and advised us to ger our order in as soon as we could to prevent delays, which we appreciated. We put our order in and the food came out at a very good pace. We got our appitizer first. Had enough time to eat that when the soup and salad came out. Our main course came shortly after. The owner came by again to male sure we had received our orders in a timely manor. The food was awesome. The prime rib had the perfect amount of flavor. My wife got the fillet mignon which was fork tender. Charoty kept up with us making sure everything was good and drinks were full. Honestly i feel like the pricing was pretty good. Ive paid more for the same or less food. The noise level was acceptable too for considering how busy it was in there. We will be back.

My fiancé and I were out shopping for our home renovations. Decided to finally try Kelsey’s, our friends had recommended.. we were not disappointed! Blake was our server and he was polite and on-top of everything! The bosco sticks were delicious. Blake gave a great recommendation on the fried shrimp. My ribeye was juicy and delicious. Only regret was not getting the porterhouse my fiancé got.. it was the best steak either one of us had the pleasure to eat. Next time we won’t be so underdressed, and I WILL get one of the delicious looking cakes. Thanks to Blake for making our first dinner here exceptional! My only complaint would be charging your customers 3.5% to pay with CC, that makes it harder for your servers, when it comes to a tip, not everyone carries cash.

Perfect meal from start to finish! We started with escargot and the best French onion soup I’ve ever had. Husband had the bone in ribeye cooked perfectly with mushrooms and onions. I had the bourbon glazed salmon with mashed potatoes, I will definitely be ordering again! We got our delicious honey cow and lavender cheesecake to go. Service was excellent and we never have to wait long for anything. Love Kelsey’s!
