Kelly’s Side Door Tavern was started in March 2022 by two brothers, Tim and John Kelly, who were born and raised in Ellwood City and have a passion for creating a place for friends to gather and share good times. We hope you will come to visit us soon!

First time I’ve been to this place and won’t be the last, if you like Authentic Irish food it’s your place. You can tell Tim the owner cares about his business and what his customers think, he goes around and greets his customers and ask them how the food is. The Banger & Mash spot on.

Searched Google for a restaurant while in New Castle. Came across this place and gave it a try. The outside of the place isn’t anything fancy, but it is clean inside. Our server Jeffrey was super friendly and very knowledgable of the items on the menu. I has the hot sausage sandwich, my son had onion rings and boneless chicken bites, my wife had a pork sandwich. My sandwich was very big. The bread was super fresh! Bread makes a sandwich and this was a great start. The sausage is locally made and had some zing to it which i like and it came out like a patty. It was super good with peppers and onions on it! My wife loved her pork sandwich and had some of my son’s onion rings which were top notch too! She commented that the sweet tea was the best she has ever had! This coming from someone that worked in the South for years! We will stop there again if we are in the area! Jeffrey is a good worker! Kudos for having someone competent working for you like that!

A diamond in the rough! There are not a lot of great restaurants in New Castle but Kelly’s Side Door Tavern has excellent food and service! The Reuben Sandwich is mouthwatering and a must have on your next visit. They also have delicious french fries!

New Castle is SO privileged with many choices for local restaurants, which is unusual for a town its size. Kelly’s is the new kid in town, opened for two weeks at the time of this posting. My good friend and I decided to check it out and the place was buzzing with customers. The atmosphere was really nice and “chill”. The servers were great. They do NOT skimp on food portions here. You will be FED. Their Pittsburgh-style sandwiches are monstrous. Parking is a little tricky, but a visit is very worth it and I hope to see this place prosper for years to come. This was our first time here and we will definitely be back! The food was amazing, our waitress was fantastic and it was nice to meet the owner as he walked around and checked on things. Prices were very reasonable. If you haven’t been here give it a try.

The biggest and the best tasting burgers wow sometimes you need to wait a few extra minutes but the food is so good the kitchen Manger and owner are so polite and friendly and try to make every costumers so happy awesome staff too just good people there

Portion size is wonderful for price! The food was delicious. I had the chicken salad. The tables are still Mulligan’s tables perhaps as a nod to the former restaurant. You can tell that some renovations have taken place. A few more still are needed. The service was good. This may not be a favorite New Castle spot of mine yet but it certainly has potential.

My family and I came to visit our family in New Castle and decided to stop here for lunch and we are glad we did! Our food was delicious, I had the steak salad which is what I order anywhere that has it and this I can honestly say was my favorite that I’ve ever had. Our waitress was great even though she was super busy handling numerous tables at once. I can’t wait to visit again and stop here and eat!

First time visiting this place and it was awesome! The fish, fries, shrimp and coleslaw were so tasty. The pieces of fish are huge so go hungry. Definitely will be going back again.
