Since leaving Chicago, I’ve searched for a friendly neighborhood Irish pub to fill the void in my life. When I moved to Dearborn, I noticed Kelly’s and decided to give them a try. I’m really glad that I did, because I can say without question or exaggeration that Kelly’s has THE best burgers in the area, and it’s no contest! Their burgers are actually cooked to order as opposed to being disappointingly overdone.
Aside from the excellent food, Kelly’s also has some great live music and a solid vibe overall. Jasmine, Shelley, Christine, Emily, Aubrey, and Annie are all super chill. Carissa and Jen both have a “cool auntie” vibe. In short, I highly recommend Kelly’s to anyone looking for a good lowkey pub with excellent burgers!

This place has a good vibe. The food was good for bar food. I was by myself and it took a minute to get someone to wait on me. It was a busy night they were playing music bingo. I have heard live Irish and folk music here. I like the atmosphere.

I had a burger and fries, menu is super small, food was fine, nothing stood out about it, no different than any other bar. Portion was tiny, fries were slid under the burger which is kinda cheap considering potatoes aren’t all that expensive.

Called ahead with a group specifically asking what time the kitchen closes because we have a bunch of hungry people, was told it’s open til 11. They had a nice big outdoor area with tables to accommodate us. Staff were very friendly and we ordered drinks and food between 9:45-10, told the staff more friends are still coming and hungry so they left us with extra menus.
10:15 our friends arrive
10:20 appetizers come out (fried pickles were pretty good) and the waitress disappeared immediately ignoring our friends, I figured she must be coming right back
10:30 I went inside saying our friends are ready to order drinks and food, so it doesn’t get too late on the kitchen. I’m told by the staff that the kitchen is closed, not taking any more orders
10:45 my “medium well” burger comes out totally burnt

Had a great time with live music and great beer on tap. They also had a grill out back cooking burgers and dogs. The only con that I could see was how long the bartenders took to get to you at the bar. They need to get the self dispensing beer machines. Now that the state has passed the law allows you to pour your own beer but haven’t seen it at bars yet. I’m assuming it’s going to be similar to a fast food restaurants fountain machines. Probably swipe your card and choose a size glass deal.

There are few places around that capture the charm Kelly’s has. It is a quintessential neighborhood bar that attracts locals, out of towners, and people from all walks of life for true Southeast, Michigan experience. What makes it exceptional is the Sunday night bartenders (shout out to Shelly and Christina) who go above and beyond with phenomenal service, cocktails and humor!
