I regularly purchase my seafood from Kenny’s Seafood and have never had this experience — especially not with shrimp that had only been refrigerated for two days. On Tuesday, I stopped by Kenny’s and asked their opinion, and they told me I should likely request a refund.
When I called Keith’s to explain the situation, instead of addressing the issue, I was given a lesson on how to properly refrigerate or freeze shrimp. I am born and raised in Louisiana — I know how to handle seafood, and I cook frequently. This was, by far, one of the worst seafood and customer service experiences I’ve had in a long time.
Unfortunately, I will not be returning my business there.
The food here is consistently good, but the sausages are what keep me coming back. They have the perfect texture: soft yet chewy with just the right amount of moisture. Whether I’m stopping by for crawfish, lunch specials, or just a quick snack, I’m never disappointed. This place is my go-to when cravings hit.
Prices vary depending on season, buy out of season and yes the prices are high, so if you’re buying in season, you cannot go wrong here.
The waitstaff at Keith Seafood was attentive and efficient throughout my meal. They promptly took my order, and the food arrived in record time.
Now, let’s talk about the food itself. The seafood dishes at Keith Seafood were simply outstanding. The flavors were fresh and vibrant, showcasing the restaurant’s commitment to using high-quality ingredients.
While my experience at Keith Seafood was mostly positive, there were a couple of minor areas where improvement could be made. During midday July, it was hot inside. We are glad the food was served quickly.
In conclusion, Keith Seafood is a restaurant that delivers swift service and serves delectable seafood dishes. If you’re looking for a place with quick and satisfying seafood, this is the spot for you. With a few minor improvements, Keith Seafood could easily become a five-star dining experience.
If you’re looking for a seafood spot with mid-tier food, a hostile atmosphere, and a side of visible health code violations, Keith’s Seafood might just be your place. Unfortunately, I was hoping for something better than a plate of disappointment served with a generous helping of rudeness.
I asked the owner a simple question about how long my po’ boy would take. Instead of a straight answer, I got a condescending lecture: “You were sitting down, so you must not have heard me call it out.” Funny, because he was literally sitting behind me for 10+ minutes, scrolling on his phone—not exactly the picture of urgency or professionalism.
When I asked (calmly) why he was being so loud, he yelled back, “Because I can be.” Bold customer service strategy—if your goal is to make sure people never return.
The food? Meh. The kind of meal that makes you regret not just grabbing fast food. The atmosphere? Tense and uninviting. And the cherry on top? Several questionable sanitation issues that made me wonder how this place is still open.
All in all, Keith’s serves up the rare combo of subpar food and top-tier attitude. I walked in hungry and left with indigestion and secondhand embarrassment.
Do yourself a favor—skip the shrimp and the sass. There are better places that know how to treat people.
The majority of people order to go, but there’s enough seating to accommodate enough people.
Keith’s is a must-go place for local and fresh food. Staff is so friendly. The selection and prices are great. Do not pass go. Go directly to Keith’s. This has become our “go-to” spot when traveling to, from and through the Slidell area. Their overstuffed po boys are ahhhh-mazing. So are their wings and boudin. Don’t forget their spicy butter garlic sauce. Delish.
