Everything was great! We was traveling and wanted to experience Louisiana food. We got a little of Everything for our family to share and try. Thank you Micole for the suggestion.

I stopped by Keith’s Seafood on Friday morning and purchased shrimp. When I got home, I peeled about 3 ounces and noticed some of the heads had already fallen off, but I didn’t think much of it at the time. Two days later, on Sunday, I went to peel the rest so I could cook them. As soon as I opened the bag, there was a very strong, pungent odor. The heads were falling off, and the shrimp had a slimy consistency. The entire bag had to be thrown away.

I regularly purchase my seafood from Kenny’s Seafood and have never had this experience — especially not with shrimp that had only been refrigerated for two days. On Tuesday, I stopped by Kenny’s and asked their opinion, and they told me I should likely request a refund.

When I called Keith’s to explain the situation, instead of addressing the issue, I was given a lesson on how to properly refrigerate or freeze shrimp. I am born and raised in Louisiana — I know how to handle seafood, and I cook frequently. This was, by far, one of the worst seafood and customer service experiences I’ve had in a long time.

Unfortunately, I will not be returning my business there.

This is one of my favorite hole-in-the-wall spots. Peter is one of the most down-to-earth people I’ve met, and his prices are always fair. They reflect market changes without gouging customers.
The food here is consistently good, but the sausages are what keep me coming back. They have the perfect texture: soft yet chewy with just the right amount of moisture. Whether I’m stopping by for crawfish, lunch specials, or just a quick snack, I’m never disappointed. This place is my go-to when cravings hit.

Prices vary depending on season, buy out of season and yes the prices are high, so if you’re buying in season, you cannot go wrong here.

Wasn’t crowded when I came around 1:35. The front girl was very nice and kind. She introduced me to the crawfish meat pie, which I ended up getting. I couldn’t wait to try it. So good. Made the trip worth it. I’m only coming here for my crawfish meat pie now. Sold

If i can give one star i would. Everyone knows Keith’s has always been a hit or miss but who wants to keep wasting their money? Walking in to return the flavorless crawfish , the owner instantly caught an attitude bcs his crawfish was bland and rudely told me not to come back.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Keith Seafood during a National holiday and I must say, the experience was quite delightful. The boiled seafood has more flavor than Kenny’s. Especially the crawfish. And you must grab their custom garlic butter!

The waitstaff at Keith Seafood was attentive and efficient throughout my meal. They promptly took my order, and the food arrived in record time.

Now, let’s talk about the food itself. The seafood dishes at Keith Seafood were simply outstanding. The flavors were fresh and vibrant, showcasing the restaurant’s commitment to using high-quality ingredients.

While my experience at Keith Seafood was mostly positive, there were a couple of minor areas where improvement could be made. During midday July, it was hot inside. We are glad the food was served quickly.

In conclusion, Keith Seafood is a restaurant that delivers swift service and serves delectable seafood dishes. If you’re looking for a place with quick and satisfying seafood, this is the spot for you. With a few minor improvements, Keith Seafood could easily become a five-star dining experience.

⭐ 0/10 – “Because I Can Be” Isn’t Customer Service

If you’re looking for a seafood spot with mid-tier food, a hostile atmosphere, and a side of visible health code violations, Keith’s Seafood might just be your place. Unfortunately, I was hoping for something better than a plate of disappointment served with a generous helping of rudeness.

I asked the owner a simple question about how long my po’ boy would take. Instead of a straight answer, I got a condescending lecture: “You were sitting down, so you must not have heard me call it out.” Funny, because he was literally sitting behind me for 10+ minutes, scrolling on his phone—not exactly the picture of urgency or professionalism.

When I asked (calmly) why he was being so loud, he yelled back, “Because I can be.” Bold customer service strategy—if your goal is to make sure people never return.

The food? Meh. The kind of meal that makes you regret not just grabbing fast food. The atmosphere? Tense and uninviting. And the cherry on top? Several questionable sanitation issues that made me wonder how this place is still open.

All in all, Keith’s serves up the rare combo of subpar food and top-tier attitude. I walked in hungry and left with indigestion and secondhand embarrassment.

Do yourself a favor—skip the shrimp and the sass. There are better places that know how to treat people.

Rustic to the core. Not affected at all by tourism or anything else, they are down to earth and nothing fancy, but the quality of food and atmosphere is where it is.
The majority of people order to go, but there’s enough seating to accommodate enough people.

EDIT: made it back today (June 16) and it’s JUST AS DELICIOUS!! There are so many shrimp! My original review remains.

Keith’s is a must-go place for local and fresh food. Staff is so friendly. The selection and prices are great. Do not pass go. Go directly to Keith’s. This has become our “go-to” spot when traveling to, from and through the Slidell area. Their overstuffed po boys are ahhhh-mazing. So are their wings and boudin. Don’t forget their spicy butter garlic sauce. Delish.
