I really wanted to love Keisari Sushi in Heidelberg Bahnstadt, and there are definitely some things they do very well — but overall the food ended up being just okay-good, especially for the price.
The location is great, the restaurant is modern, nicely decorated, and the presentation of the dishes is genuinely pretty. Service was also a big plus: friendly, fast, and attentive.
That said, the sushi quality itself felt only slightly above average to good. Nothing was bad, but it also didn’t feel special enough to match the higher price point. There’s quite a noticeable gap between what you pay and what you get.
To be fair, Bahnstadt is already a fancy neighborhood and I’m sure rent isn’t cheap, which probably explains the pricing and if I was in owners shoes I would probably do the same pricing. If you live nearby, it would make sense as a convenient, nice looking spot. But traveling from Mannheim where I could get better quality sushi, I don’t think the price-to-quality ratio would make me come back again.

Really enjoyed the restaurant. Be sure to make a reservation they were turning away a lot of people last night and there were many open tables. The wine menu although not extensive is good. We made the comment that it was the cheapest bottle of wine we ever had at a restaurant.
The sushi was outstanding. My recommendation is the surf and turf. My wife liked the EBI tempura. So not the traditional sushi, but delicious anyway.
Only issue was the service at the restaurant to start the evening. We were there almost 25 minutes before someone came and got our drink order and close to an hour before our drinks and appetizer were served.

Not far away from the main train station, this new restaurant has the potential of being a highlight of Bahnstadt in Heidelberg.
The food and the way they serve it is very nice, but I have to give credit to the service people whom you see from their eyes that they want your happiness.

The fish were really fresh and the sushi was amazing. Great atmosphere. We had to wait a little longer than we expected for the sushi, but it was worth the wait. The cocktails were also very tasty. Thank you for a great dinner!

Very yummy sushi with lots of varieties. And the planting is very nice too. The service is superb which adds much value to the overall experience. You can feel that they serve the food with heart. Highly recommended.

Very good but a pricey Sushi; not a whole lot of choice otherwise. Few seating options outside, so not ideal for days with good weather. Service was attentive and friendly despite a lot of guests. Largest problem for me were the outrageous drink prices; 4 euros for 0,2l Coke is just silly. Mainly do not recommend for that reason.
