My husband has wanted to visit this restaurant for a while, and we were finally able to try it out. It was such a fun and unique experience dining in a train car restaurant. The suitcases lining the top of the car were a cute touch. The food was really tasty as well. We ordered a couple of meals plus an appetizer, and we had no complaints. The service was great, too. Our waitress was attentive and very nice.

We had no idea there was an option to sit in a train car until we were offered seats there (we had arrived from the rear of the restaurant and didn’t see it from the front). What a cool experience.
Our waiter (James?) was super friendly and engaging, seemingly knowing everyone besides us that was eating in the train car that day.
My buddy and I both ordered the mixed burnt ends (beef, pork and turkey). So good!
The mashed potatoes and the fries were also delicious!
This was my first visit to Sedalia but I’d gladly return here for a meal.

The food was excellent and tasted amazing, only thing negative they charge 80 cents for an extra thing of sour cream and didn’t inform about the extra charge until after receiving our ticket.

We were seated at a dirty table. The lady from the front counter (area to the left when walking in) sat us and wiped food and mayonnaise off of the table with her fingers and said, “you didn’t see that”! We should have left then. The food was mediocre. I don’t think they like people from out of town either. We didn’t feel very welcome. Our son is stationed at Whiteman AFB and we came to visit. We will not come back here to eat.

Wow. No one in our party had a bad thing to say about the food. We had everything. Ribs great seasoning lite on the sauce so you can choose. Chicken was tender and juicy with good seasoning. Brisket was amazing. Turkey had a nice smoke and still juicy as well. Beans had big chunks of meat and onions in them and were not an after thought. Green beans were the same. Most places they are super boring but these were lively with fantastic seasonings. BBQ sauce on the table with on the sweeter side (the way I prefer) and in my opinion the sweet tea couldn’t have been better. 10/10 recommend.

I had a hard time rating this place because it was a very mixed experience. Both good and bad. First ill start with the food. We had the BBQ nachos and the taste was good but it definitely needed some lettuce, tomatoes, just something fresh on there. It looked unappealing but it tasted good. We shared a meat platter and the meat was cold and reminded me of deli meat so we were unimpressed there. The kids menu was good. No complaints there.

The service was great. They were very attentive BUT we sat in the train cart and our waiter was so loud. It was kind of annoying. I was unable to talk to my family and just continuously listened to shouting from this one waiter asking for orders or if someone wanted dessert. I think being in a train cart made his voice carry even more than usual.

I think the atmosphere is the best thing here. The train cart is super cute and they are super kid friendly. They let my daughter take one of the little train carts upstairs to play while we had lunch. They were very nice.

My parents live near here and wanted to take us to eat. The place stays packed so we were excited. The place is very clean and plenty of room. The food was good but coming from Texas the brisket was a bit dry. It tasted almost as if they put it in a broiler not a smoker. The turkey was really good and so were the burgers. The service was really good. The waitress was on it for refills and all. We will go back but not for the brisket.

They have good-not great BBQ. The have the best BBQ in Sedalia that I have tried. That being said, I went today, a Wednesday-a day they are advertised to be open, because I was in the area. This is the third time they have not been open when I have went there to eat on a day they were supposed to be open.

I am done with them. I don’t get to Sedalia a bunch and when I do I try to eat at Kehde’s. I was coming from Warsaw on this particular day and passed up on eating at Hill top BBQ in Warsaw for Kehde’s. I won’t ever pass up another restaurant-including McDonald’s, Wendy’s, etc. to go to Kehde’s because apparently they don’t care about being open for business when they are supposed to be open for business.

Khede’s BBQ in Sedalia is a unique and memorable spot, especially with its setting inside a vintage train car—it adds a nostalgic, fun twist to the dining experience that you don’t find just anywhere.

We tried three different sandwiches: the Miss Piggy, the Big Bird, and John’s Prime Rib Sandwich. All three were fantastic. The Miss Piggy was a pork lover’s dream—tender, smoky pulled pork loaded with flavor. The Big Bird featured juicy smoked chicken with great seasoning and a nice balance of smoky and savory. But the standout was John’s Prime Rib Sandwich. It was packed with juicy, flavorful prime rib, sliced thick and served with all the right fixings. Every bite was rich, hearty, and satisfying.

Beyond the great food, the service was friendly and quick, and the vibe inside the train car made it a fun and cozy place to enjoy a meal. Whether you’re passing through or local to the area, Khede’s is a must-stop for BBQ with a creative twist. Great sandwiches, fun atmosphere, and a cool location—what more could you ask for?
